This role involves leading and managing software engineering teams focused on Cloud Networking, utilizing Java/Golang. Responsibilities include planning deliverables for product releases, architecting, developing, testing, and automating features on Extreme's Cloud platform. The role requires conducting reviews, coordinating with stakeholders, innovating new ideas, managing team activities like hiring and appraisals, and ensuring team motivation and continuous learning. A key aspect is managing teams of 6-8 software engineers, with a focus on performance management and fostering a positive team culture. The position also requires participation in and driving managerial activities to ensure smooth execution of deliverables and adherence to project schedules.
Must have:

- Proficiency in CI/CD, Microservices, Infrastructure-as-code
- Experience in Datacenter or Cloud Native Networking

- Deployment experience in AWS, GCP, Azure
- Strong knowledge of RESTful API, XML APIs, SNMP
- Experience with Kubernetes & Containers
- Familiarity with Scrum Master responsibilities
Good to have:
- Experience running large-scale IaaS/SaaS platforms
- Experience with Software Defined Networking projects

Job Responsibilities:
You are expected to work on the following activities:
• Lead and manage one or more teams of experienced development engineers.
• Plan the deliverables for one or more product releases.
• Participate in and drive the team to architect/design, develop, test, and automate several features on Extreme’s Cloud platform.
• Conduct reviews as needed at every stage of the development and test process and ensure the necessary quality.
• Co-ordinate with different stakeholders (like PLM, PM, QA, peer teams..etc) as needed to achieve key objectives and results.
• Innovate and implement new ideas as needed during the development and test process.
• Plan for and attend meetings and conference calls as needed to ensure smooth execution of the deliverables.
• Conduct scrum meetings regularly as needed.
• Use a flexible and priority approach to address incoming customer issues.
• Participate in and drive managerial activities like hiring, conducting 1-on-1s with engineers, appraisals, keeping the team motivated, ensuring continuous learning, and maintaining a team culture that is aligned with the company culture.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 12+ years of experience in Software Development, Software Testing and Quality Assurance within Agile Software Development Environments.
Team Management: At least 2+ years of experience in managing and mentoring a team of 6-8 Software Engineers.
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in modern Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) pipelines involving CI/CD, Distributed Systems, Microservices, and Infrastructure-as-code.
Experience leading and providing technical guidance to teams working on Software Development and Testing products, preferably in Datacenter Networking or Cloud Native Networking.
Experience in networking domain for Layer 2 switching, L3 routing protocols, BGP, VxLAN,VLAN,
Hands-on programming experience in one or more languages such as Python, Java, Golang, C, or C++.
Deployment and management experience in On-Premises and Public Clouds (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
Familiarity with Infrastructure deployment tools like Ansible, Helm, and Terraform.
Strong knowledge of API design such as RESTful API, XML APIs, and SNMP.
Cloud infrastructure technologies like Kubernetes & Containers, and Golang in a multi-core, multi-threading environment.
Performance Management: Experience in building teams and managing top talent through a strong performance management system.
Scrum Master Experience: Familiarity with Scrum Master responsibilities (or similar operations) for Testing and Quality scrums. Conduct standup meetings and perform risk mitigation to ensure project schedules stay on track.
Other Qualifications:
Experience in software architecture, design, implementation, and unit testing distributed server applications.
Collaboration Skills: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Software Development, Product Line Management, Program Management, Customer Account Management, and Product Sales. Understand customer requirements and operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
Decision-Making: Able to make quick decisions backed by data. Hold oneself and the team accountable for decisions and milestones.
Good to have Qualifications:
Prior experience in running large-scale IaaS/SaaS platforms for Enterprise or Datacenter projects.
· Experience handling Software Defined Networking projects for on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud solutions.
