Job Description

The Marketing Project Manager assumes a pivotal role in spearheading the logistical orchestration for Marketing with a focus on Trek retail initiatives. In this multifaceted role, this individual ensures the alignment and progress of various cross-functional teams, maintains, and enhances project timelines within our project management software, manages project scope, and consistently delivers projects requirements with punctuality.

Position Responsibilities:

Planning Long-Term:

  • Collaborates with the Marketing team and department managers to create long-term plans for requested projects, including mapping out campaign dates.
  • Ensures project success and the well-being of team members by effectively balancing resources.
  • Identifies and documents any delays in project launches or completions due to resource constraints.
  • Communicates resource concerns and provides recommendations for resolution.

Planning Projects:

  • Collaborates with project requestors to understand project goals and gather requirements.
  • Establishes project milestones that align resources across different departments.
  • Determines project kickoff dates and timelines in coordination with team members.
  • Facilitates project meetings from the initial soft kickoff through various stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Tracks lessons learned and continuously improves project templates for future projects.
  • Streamline project tasks to minimize redundancy and save time.

Leading Projects:

  • Ensures the timely delivery of projects by verifying that team members complete tasks within the project's scope and parameters.
  • Ensures that the project team comprehends project objectives, deliverables, timelines, and tasks and is committed to meeting or exceeding the project plan.
  • Collaborates closely with project owners to maintain accurate project timelines and identifies and addresses bottlenecks.

Developing Teams:

  • Regularly reviews team concerns and questions, providing solutions as needed.
  • Becomes a super user and assists in the development of the organization's project management tool, Workfront.
  • Assists team members in using the project planning software tool (Workfront) as required.

Developing Processes:

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to develop processes for cross functional project teams.
  • Analyzes lessons learned and updates processes as necessary, communicating these updates to the relevant team members.
  • Drives continuous improvements in all areas, with a focus on optimizing processes.

Communicating:

  • Excels in communication by effectively conveying project progress and team development.
  • Leads high-quality meetings, including project kickoffs, scrums, and after-action reviews, to ensure effective communication and alignment among team members.

Position Requirements:

Minimum of Three Years of Project Management Experience: The candidate should have at minimum three years of experience in managing projects.

Experience Leading Cross-Functional Project Teams: This role involves leading medium to large cross-functional project teams.

Ability to Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously: This role requires the ability to effectively manage several projects at the same time.

Effective Communication Skills: The candidate should be able to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization, including upper-level management.

Independence: The ability to work independently and take ownership of projects and make decisions autonomously when necessary.

Comfort with a Fast-Paced Environment: Project management can be fast-paced, so the candidate should be comfortable working in such an environment. This might involve managing tight deadlines and adapting to changes quickly.

Understanding of Creative Development: A comprehensive understanding of the creative development process is required, including concept development, production, and knowledge of video and digital marketing.

Experience with Workfront (Optional): While not mandatory, experience with Workfront is considered a plus.

Travel Requirement: The candidate should be willing and able to travel to Trek HQ, which is specified as 10% of the time.

Remote position: Must be available to work in Central Standard Time (CST).

Salary Range: $75,000-90,000/annually
