About the Role:
As an Operations Specialist on the Global Network Operations Center team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and continuity of network and service operations for a leading global brand. This fully remote, 1+ year contract opportunity offers a chance to leverage your expertise in systems, network, and cloud technologies while working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll be part of a talented team dedicated to incident management, process improvement, and collaboration across departments to keep services running smoothly for players and users around the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track inbound communications from various streams to identify and address service incidents promptly.
- Use your knowledge of systems, networks, and cloud technologies as a first responder to triage incidents and improve detection accuracy.
- Drive resolution of player- and user-impacting issues, ensuring fast and effective remediation.
- Conduct routine follow-ups on active incidents to ensure resolution progress and minimize service downtime.
- Process requests for system access, network configurations, and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Adjust alert triggers to reduce false positives and improve system monitoring efficiency.
- Manage stakeholder communications and documentation during critical service outages.
- Review, update, and refine operational documentation, including runbooks, troubleshooting guides, user guides, and procedures.
- Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams to enhance operational performance and service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Linux (bash scripting, debugging, tuning)
- Strong understanding of networking (triaging, packet loss, routing, ACLs)
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Datadog, CloudWatch, GCP Operations, and LogicMonitor
- Familiarity with alert correlation platforms like BigPanda, ScienceLogic, Tivoli/Netcool
- Experience with cloud services and architecture (AWS, GCP, OpenStack)
- Knowledge of service operations frameworks and workflows (ITIL, Incident/Problem/Event/Change Management, DMAIC)
- Proficient in logging tools (Splunk, SysLog, ELK Stack, Linux Journal)
- Experience with source control (GitHub Enterprise, Perforce, SVN) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Argo, Spinnaker)
- Expertise in configuration management (Puppet, Hiera, Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, Consul)
- Familiarity with container computing (Docker, Kubernetes, Service Mesh)
- Knowledge of proxies and load balancing (Nginx, HAProxy, Envoy)
