As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives. The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in program management
  • Experience creating dashboards
  • Partner with Product Engineering and Engineering Productivity teams to accelerate Engineering Productivity organization execution.
  • Manage the organization’s portfolio planning and prioritization, partner with Engineering and Product, drive Roadmap/OKR planning, milestones, and software schedules.
  • Lead key initiatives managing timelines, resources, and dependencies to ensure timely delivery of accessible products and services.
  • Monitor, measure, and communicate project progress, potential risks/delays and team performance to program teams, executives, and other sponsors.
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of the technical and process challenges associated with the software development life-cycle
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in an ambiguous operations environment, as well as deliver results in a timely manner
  • Excellent problem solving skills
