The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will provide dedicated analytical expertise for the Lottery Insights group, focusing on a specific interactive lottery customer. This customer-facing role involves regular presentations and meetings with key stakeholders. Responsibilities include analyzing internet sales, products, consumers, and operations, leveraging data and analytical techniques to evaluate industry performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions), SQL (for data extraction and aggregation), and Tableau for data visualization and reporting. They will proactively generate insights, develop KPIs, report on industry trends, and support the onsite team with validation and operational reporting. A strong understanding of A/B testing is a plus. The analyst must be a critical thinker, excellent communicator, and adept at presenting findings to diverse audiences.

Position Summary

iLottery Business Intelligence Analyst

The Insights Analyst will provide dedicated analytic expertise for the Lottery Insights group by supporting a specific interactive lottery customer. This role will be customer-facing and be participating in regular presentations and meetings with key stakeholders. The Insights Analyst will use data, tools, and analytic techniques to evaluate industry performance in a number of areas. This includes analysis of internet sales, products, consumers, operations and primary customer research.  An in-depth knowledge of spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel is required. Knowledge of SQL is required, with the ideal candidate able to independently write SQL to perform various data extraction and aggregation tasks. Demonstrated proficiency with Tableau is also required. Knowledge of A/B testing is preferred. The Insights Analyst should be naturally curious, excited about analysis, and a good data storyteller. We are looking for a problem solver that can think critically and provide data driven Insights using visualization best practices as needed to our many stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently maintain and refine key analytic products that are relied upon substantially within the organization

  • Proactively generate insights based on regular evaluations of the ilottery marketplace

  • Answer complex ad-hoc questions that arise from internal/external stakeholders

  • Work to develop new KPI’s that can be used by the organization and our customers

  • Provide regular reporting of industry trends and happenings to key stakeholders

  • Use Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau to create and distribute content for our many stakeholders

  • Support the onsite team with any validation or operations reporting they require

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key customer stakeholders

Required Skills and Experience

  • Critical thinker that can provide valuable business insights based on the analysis of data

  • Strong Tableau background is highly desirable

  • Willingness to own detailed data validation and routine tasks associated with data projects

  • Highly organized and capable of independently managing complex analytic projects and products

  • Strong communicator, with the ability to express findings to a variety of audiences in both written and oral forms using a combination of Tableau, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required

    • This includes the use of pivot tables, vlookup or index/match, “ifs” statements, conditional formatting, array formulas, etc.

  • Desire and ability to become substantially adept at using SQL to extract and aggregate data is required; prior experience is strongly desired.

  • Must have a mentality that aligns with continuous learning, improvement, and personal growth

  • Must be a self-starter who can independently research, identify appropriate methods, and solve problems

  • Occasional travel is required for this role (10%)

  • Must have attained at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

  • Past experience with click-stream data a plus

  • Experience with A/B testing and associated analysis is a plus

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
