The Opportunity:
We are looking for Versatile, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.
In this role, you will work closely with software engineers, test engineers, infrastructure, and support engineers to create and enhance capabilities supporting fast and iterative mode of software development life cycle for Visa Resolve Online product. You will work in a very agile environment and expected to context shift quickly between parallel product releases and teams working on them.
The Work itself:
Setup and maintain code branches in Git/ Bit bucket to support parallel code releases
Employ and ensure periodic code merges from upstream to downstream/ integration branches
Enhance, version and manage build scripts, code artifacts
Setup and enhance code build and deployment pipelines using Jenkins
Ensure build and deployment jobs are working as expected and failures are notified to respective teams/ developers
Setup and enhance automated jobs for data base and infrastructure deployments
Keep track of changes requested by multiple development and testing teams for parallel code deployments
Use of GenAI tools to improve productivity and robustness of automations
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Essential Functions:
3+ years of work experience or 2+ years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA)
Working experience in Agile software development projects is preferred
Worked as DevOps Engineer for 3 years, in hands-on role
The Skills You Bring:
Proficient with Gradle, Git/ Stash/ BitBucket and Jenkins
Proficient with Maven/ Artifactory
Handson experience with Python/Groovy
Experience working on Cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience working on Linux based infrastructure. Good knowledge of batch and Unix Scripting
Excellent troubleshooting skills, able to take up DevOps related activities independently
Excellent oral and written communication skill
Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles
Experience working with Java and associated technologies would be a needed
Awareness of automated Data base deployment tools (Liquibase/ Flyway) will be a plus
Awareness of configuration management tools (Chef/ Ansible) will be a plus
