Job Description

The Senior Executive, Financial Accounting and Control role involves preparing and analyzing financial information to support senior management's decision-making, focusing on core accounting skills across different business divisions. Responsibilities include performing accounting transactions, reconciling balance sheets, and assisting in financial report preparation. The candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, adhere to internal controls, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. They will also develop and use spreadsheets and databases while interacting effectively with the onshore team.
Must have:
  • Professional accounting degree with minimum 2 years experience.
  • Proven track record in processing core accounting transactions.
  • Excellent communication skills in oral & written English.
  • Adaptable to working in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Accuracy and outstanding attention to detail.
Good to have:
  • Hands on experience in SAP/Oracle/Oracle Fusion systems preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages specially in MS Excel.
  • Be a lead proponent in driving a collaborative culture to working across finance.
  • Strong process orientation, with ability to craft robust reporting frameworks.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with global colleagues.

Senior Executive, Financial Accounting and Control

Position Summary

The main responsibilities of this role will be preparing, developing, and analysing financial information so that the London Stock Exchange Group’s senior management can make well-informed decisions, leading to future stability, growth, and profitability. The role focuses on core accounting skills, working across different business divisions in order to support the whole organisation. The selected candidate will be responsible in achieving accurate accounting, organisational objectives for the function and reporting in line with the accounting policies and procedures of the London Stock Exchange Group in addition to collaborating with stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting transactions in the general ledger and sub-ledgers, including collecting, recording, and verifying financial data.
  • Ownership of journal posting reconciliations and intercompany recharges.
  • Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations and substantiations.
  • Work collaboratively in identification and support of continuous improvement activities.
  • Assistance may be required in the preparation of monthly or weekly financial reports.
  • Develop and use spreadsheets, databases, and other reports.
  • Effective interaction with the onshore team members.
  • Adherence to internal controls as per group policies and the financial control framework.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Having professional accounting degree with minimum 2 years of experience in General Accounting.
  • Proven track record in processing core accounting transactions to ensure balances are accurately reflected in the general ledger.
  • Hands on experience in SAP/Oracle/Oracle Fusion systems preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages specially in MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills in oral & written English.
  • Be a lead proponent in driving a collaborative culture to working across finance.
  • Adaptable to working in a constantly evolving environment to meet business priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong process orientation, with ability to craft robust reporting frameworks.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with global colleagues.
