Job Details

Every day, the world gets more digital thanks to tens of millions of developers building the future faster than ever. But with exponential growth comes exponential risk, as outnumbered security teams struggle to secure mountains of code. This is where Snyk (pronounced “sneak”) comes in. Snyk is a developer security platform that makes it easy for development teams to find, prioritize, and fix security vulnerabilities in code, dependencies, containers, and cloud infrastructure — and do it all right from the start. Snyk is on a mission to make the world a more secure place by empowering developers to develop fast and stay secure.

Joining Snyk means embracing our core values: One Team, Care Deeply, Customer Centric, and Forward Thinking. As a member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to thrive in a dynamic environment where fostering collaboration, leading with empathy, driving business impact, and inspiring trust are at the heart of everything we do.

Our Opportunity

As a member of the Frontend Platform team at Snyk, you'll be at the forefront of building the future of application security. You’ll be challenged to create reusable, high-performance, reliable, and scalable User Interfaces while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about crafting exceptional software, solving complex problems, building the building blocks, and driving innovation. Your contributions will directly impact the success of our product and the security of millions of developers worldwide.

You’ll Spend Your Time:

  • Analyzing, designing, and implementing high-quality solutions to problems with well-tested, maintainable code.
  • Building enterprise-grade UIs with long-term flexibility in mind, focusing on sound design, robust testing, and sustainability from the perspective of accessibility and performance.
  • Leading our product teams by partnering to provide end-to-end solutions that are generic and flexible to maintain standards across the platform.
  • Supporting our external customers and internal stakeholders by diagnosing and addressing bugs.
  • Demonstrating end-to-end ownership for critical efforts, leading peers in breakdown, prioritization, and delivery as a technical lead.
  • Providing direct mentorship and leadership through example to more junior engineers, and using your influence to grow the next generation of engineers at Snyk.

What You’ll Need:

  • At least 5 years of commercial experience as a Software Engineer, some of those focused on large-scale Frontend development involving many engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in a modern UI Framework, preferably Vue, or a willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript.
  • Proficiency in modern frontend tooling, such as Vite.
  • Experience in at least one of:
    • Building highly reliable, scalable web applications
    • Building infrastructure or platform automation for web applications, such as observability or release tools.
    • Building platform systems intended to be consumed by other engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with fundamental computer science concepts (algorithms, complexity, data structures).
  • Demonstrable skill in effective software testing, debugging, and performance analysis.
  • Strong commitment to code quality, and value giving and receiving feedback through code reviews.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, collaborate to identify root requirements, and respond with agility when requirements and priorities change.
  • Effective communicator both verbally and in writing, both in person and with remote colleagues. Able to work collaboratively, be curious, and have a growth mindset.
  • Ability to lift the performance of a team through coaching and mentoring of more junior engineers.

We’d be Lucky if You:

  • Have web accessibility knowledge and experience participating in accessibility efforts at scale.
  • Feed off complex technical problems and find solutions where others see roadblocks.
  • Embrace challenges and learn from them.
  • Have worked with deployment pipelines made up of AWS, ArgoCD, CircleCI, and more.
  • Have proficiency in Go.
  • Have proficiency in API Design

We care deeply about the warm, inclusive environment we’ve created and we value diversity – we welcome applications from those typically underrepresented in tech. If you like the sound of this role but are not totally sure whether you’re the right person, do apply anyway!
