Job Description

The Staff Product Designer will be part of the enterprise platform team. The role involves conducting research to understand user needs and pain points, influencing product decisions, collaborating with designers, and creating design concepts. Key responsibilities include leading complex projects in developer tools and cloud security, and sharing skills to build the design team. The goal is to drive the future of the Snyk platform by working closely with design leaders, product and engineering colleagues.
Must have:
  • Strong UX research and design experience.
  • Experience in the developer tooling domain.
  • Solid user-centered design methodology.
  • Experience designing complex enterprise applications.
  • Strong story-telling skills.
Good to have:
  • Exposure to complex engineering teams.
  • Formal education in Human Factors.
  • Hands-on, curious and explore new technologies.

Your Opportunity

We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our enterprise platform team, working on a range of features as well as helping shape design strategy for the future of Snyk. You will be working closely with design leaders, product and engineering colleagues to help drive the future of our platform.

You’ll Spend Your Time:

  • Conducting generative & evaluative research to identify pain points and user needs 
  • Working day to day in R&D teams, influencing product decisions through user research
  • Collaborating with other designers, content writers and researchers  to create one Snyk experience 
  • Running workshops to understand and align x-functional teams through design 
  • Creating service or journey maps and design concepts to drive the Snyk vision forward
  • Collaborating with the Design System team to craft hi-fidelity design artifacts
  • Leading highly complex projects in developer tools and cloud security with practicality and influence
  • Sharing your skills, coaching other designers, and helping to build our world class design team

What You’ll Need:

  • Strong experience in UX research and design, applying a wide range of techniques to define and solve complex design problems
  • Experience working in the developer tooling domain, or hands-on experience as a developer
  • Solid user-centred design methodology and practice and strong critical thinking skills to understand user needs vs user wants
  • Experience in designing complex enterprise applications collaboratively across multiple R&D teams
  • Strong story-telling skills to interact with executive stakeholders, a range of customer scenarios and more

We’d be Lucky if You: 

  • Have exposure to working with complex engineering & product teams within a dev-tooling or cybersecurity environments
  • Formal education in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction or similar 
  • Are hands-on, curious and love to explore new domains and technologies like Gen AI and a critical thinker prepared to challenge the status quo
