Key responsibilities include project planning and coordination, stakeholder communication, execution and quality control, risk management, and process improvement. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies, strong SDLC knowledge, and excellent communication skills in Mandarin and English.

Job Description

General Purpose:

The Senior Software Project Manager in Taiwan will lead software development projects for HID, ensuring successful alignment with global objectives and delivering high-quality solutions in identity management. Serving as a liaison between Taiwan and Vietnam-based teams and US stakeholders, this role focuses on coordinating resources, managing timelines, and aligning regional execution with HID’s standards and goals.

This role is ideal for a skilled software project manager with a collaborative approach, capable of leading regional teams to deliver innovative solutions that align with HID’s global mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Coordination:

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals
    in collaboration with US stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans with clear timelines, budgets, and resource requirements, ensuring alignment with HID’s software development processes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, facilitating regular check-ins to monitor progress and address any roadblocks.

Stakeholder & Communication Management:

  • Act as the primary contact for Taiwan-based and US stakeholders, ensuring transparent, timely updates on project progress, risks, and milestones.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, gathering feedback to adjust project scope or priorities as needed to align with strategic goals.

Execution & Quality Control:

  • Oversee the full software project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to development, testing, and deployment, maintaining high standards of software quality.
  • Implement best practices in project management and agile methodologies to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Conduct project reviews, retrospectives, and quality assessments to continuously improve project outcomes.

Risk Management & Issue Resolution:

  • Identify project risks and dependencies early, developing and executing mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making across the team, fostering a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.

Process Improvement & Documentation:

  • Drive process improvements based on lessons learned, encouraging a
    culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Ensure accurate, comprehensive documentation for all project phases,
    maintaining alignment with HID’s compliance and security protocols.

Essential Skills and Experiences:

  1. Project Management Expertise:
    1. Proficient in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies, with experience in tools like Jira or Microsoft Project for effective project coordination.
  2. SDLC Knowledge:
    1. Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle in agile settings, ensuring smooth project execution from planning through deployment.
  3. Risk Management & Problem-Solving:
    1. Skilled at identifying and mitigating risks, with a proactive approach to problem-solving for project continuity.
  4. Bilingual Communication (Mandarin & English):
    1. Fluent in Mandarin and English, capable of bridging Taiwan-based teams and US stakeholders with clear, effective communication.
  5. Leadership & Team Collaboration:
    1. Experienced in leading cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment, and supporting team growth.
  6. Stakeholder & Quality Management:
    1. Skilled in aligning project outcomes with business goals, managing expectations, and maintaining HID’s quality and security standards.
  7. Process Improvement:
    1. Dedicated to process enhancement and knowledge sharing, with familiarity in Lean or Six Sigma as a plus.
  8. Software Project Management (5-7 Years):
    1. Proven track record managing software projects end-to-end in a multinational setting, with consistent on-time and on-budget delivery.
  9. Global & Remote Collaboration:
    1. Experienced working across time zones, especially with teams in the US and APAC, fostering strong cross-border partnerships.
  10. Industry Knowledge (Preferred):
    1. Familiarity with security, access control, or identity management industries is beneficial.
  11. Technical Proficiency:
    1. Basic technical knowledge for effective developer communication; a technical background is a plus.
  12. Certifications (Preferred):
    1. PMP, CSM, or PRINCE2 certifications are highly valued.
