Software Engineer (Compliance) Intern - Global Payment

About Global Payment The Global Payment team of Bytedance provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on ByteDance platforms including TikTok. The mission of payment compliance is to build payment compliance strategy & solutions to prevent regulatory risks, and apply flexible strategy to match payment partners' risk appetite in order to reduce channel risk & spillover. We work closely with algorithm and strategy engineers to build a reliable compliance product system to ensure payment compliance of ByteDance products, including TikTok LIVE, TikTok E-commerce, etc. We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in from May 2025 onwards. Successful candidates must be able to commit to the following Internships - From May onwards to August 2025 (full time) - From August to October 2025 (part time) Candidates can apply to a maximum of two positions and will be considered for jobs in the order you apply. Responsibilities - Develop high-quality software design and architecture for global payment systems; - Identify, prioritise and execute tasks in the software development life cycle; - Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code; - Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting; - Review and debug code; Perform validation and verification testing; - Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to fix and improve our products; - Document development phases and monitor systems; - Ensure software is up-to-date with latest technologies

Minimum Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline; - Excellent programming, debugging, and optimization skills in one or more general purpose programming languages - Strong communication and excellent teamwork skills; flexible and be a self-starter. - Agile, quick self learner, highly self-motivated with strong sense of product ownership and creative problem solver; - Good collaborator and team player, comfortable working in a fast moving, culturally diverse and globally distributed team environment. Preferred Qualifications: - Relevant internship experience with hands on exposure to the tech stack - Interested in payment industry - Graduating December 2025 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.
