Software Engineer - Frontend

Job role:

As a Frontend Engineer, you will work on React.js and Next.js with the frontend team at Gamezop. Gamezop front-end is handled by a small team of smart, dedicated people - we work on cutting edge technology without compromising on stability. You will shuffle between the new features team and the maintenance team in different sprints, as does everyone else at Gamezop. We expect the following from you:

• Good code hygiene (organized commits, PRs and ability to follow internal development guidelines)
• In depth knowledge of Javascript (including ECMAScript) and prior experience with Typescript is a must
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with React.js, Node.js
• Understanding of modern frontend ecosystem, including but not limited to bundling, linting, testing and releasing
• Experience with modern testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Mocha, Chai)
• Should have worked on PWAs (offline accessibility, push notifications on mobile web, service workers)
• Good understanding of Web Vitals and how to optimize for them
• Prior experience with react state management libraries (Redux / Zustand)
• Comfort with JS / HTML / CSS for UI development
• Hands-on experience with server-side caching and rendering
• Understanding of Next.js is a big plus
• Understanding of SEO principles
• Experience with browser-based debugging

Here are a few must-have qualities:

• Good written and spoken English
• Ability to work in small teams with rapid development cycles
• Passion for good design
• Familiarity with the scrum workflow system

The following is not mandatory, but a good to have. It will allow you to take up more full-stack tasks at Gamezop:

• Experience with React Native / React Native Web / Flutter
• Experience with backend technologies (Elixir, Golang, Node.js)
• Experience with performance monitoring tools (Prometheus / Grafana / DataDog / New Relic)
