Job Description

As a Software Engineer III at Google, you'll contribute to improving Zamm infrastructure, enabling Googlers to administer production more collaboratively and predictably. You'll design, implement, and maintain components and features of this infrastructure, focusing on long-term maintainability. Responsibilities include developing software and infrastructure, troubleshooting test infrastructure issues, designing modular systems, and fostering engineering best practices. The role involves collaborating cross-functionally and working independently on challenging problems. You'll have the opportunity to influence Google's technical design, quality, processes, and team culture. This position requires experience in back-end coding (Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, or C++) and a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Preferred qualifications include experience with web application development, Unix/Linux environments, and other areas like machine learning or security software development.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 2+ years back-end coding experience (Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, C++)
  • Design, implement, and maintain Zamm infrastructure components
  • Troubleshoot test infrastructure issues
  • Develop software focusing on maintainability

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience working with programming languages e.g., Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, C++.
  • Experience in back-end coding.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with some of the following: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems, or security software development.
  • Experience developing production software.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with teams.
  • Ability to work independently on challenging problems and passion for quality.
  • Ability to apply problem-solving skills to complex issues.
