Job Description

Sanzaru Games seeks an experienced VFX Artist to create stunning, high-fidelity VFX assets for VR games. Responsibilities include collaborating with other teams to iterate and polish VFX, adhering to a consistent art style, optimizing VFX for performance, creating and editing shader-based VFX materials, and implementing VFX using Unreal Engine tools. The role also involves communicating effectively, participating in R&D, contributing to the internal community, and actively improving skills. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of game VFX experience, proficiency in Unreal Engine (Cascade, Blueprints, Material Editor), Maya, Photoshop, and strong artistic skills.

Job Details

Sanzaru Games is seeking an experienced VFX Artist to join our AAA game development team. Create stunning VFX for VR which transport and empower the player, enhance gameplay, and brings life into characters and environments. Sanzaru prides itself on crafting interactive content that delivers high quality, immersive experiences that takes players to unimaginable worlds. VFX Artist - Sanzaru Responsibilities

  • Create high fidelity, performant VFX assets.

  • Collaborate with Art, Design, and Engineering teams to iterate and polish VFX.

  • Maintain and adhere to a consistent art style provided by the project leads.

  • Optimize VFX based on gameplay and technical constraints.

  • Create and edit materials for shader-based VFX.

  • Implement VFX using Blueprint and Sequencer UE4 tools.

  • Clearly communicate updates and concerns with team members and lead artists.

  • Participate in research and development of latest tools, shaders, technology, and workflows.

  • Contribute to building internal community by encouraging artistic development, showcasing workflows, artistic techniques, providing quality feedback, and mentoring others.

  • Actively improve skillset by staying on top of industry trends and techniques, new software, and product evaluation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years industry experience as a VFX artist in games.

  • Experience with composition and framing skills, including sense of scale, timing, form, texture and color.

  • Experience developing and maintaining a style language across multiple VFX.

  • Experience working in module or node-based scripting tools such as Unreal Engine's Cascade, Blueprints, and Material Editor.

  • Experience working with Maya and Photoshop.

  • Experience with current game-art pipelines and methodologies.

  • Experience troubleshooting software issues and learn on the fly.

  • Experience tackling challenges and problem solving with a sense of ownership.

  • Experience adapting and learning different art styles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating art for VR/AR mediums.

  • Experience with Houdini, Substance Painter, Maya Fluids or similar.

  • Background in animation and/or traditional art.

$130,000/year to $180,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
