DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Develops, maintains, and supports the Windows PC applications and libraries necessary for game content creation.
Works with tool users and other engineers to determine tool requirements, then drives the implementation, documentation, maintenance, and improvement of these tools.
Regularly performs technical reviews of current tools to identify deficiencies.
Breaks down large tasks into actionable, trackable elements.
Provides guidance to new engineers on how to tackle and think about different problems.
Develops understanding and knowledge through performing work in new areas of the tools.
Participates in code reviews.
Identifies and proposes solutions for content creation bottlenecks.
Estimates work as part of team iteration planning.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:
Strong industrial experience in C++, C#, .NET API, game content tool development required.
Production experience with WPF, event-based programming, application programming, and multi-threaded programming required.
Prior experience developing Windows applications and tools in C# using the .NET API required.
Effective organization, communication, analysis and problem-solving skills required.
Prior experience developing applications in C++ preferred.
Prior experience with WCF, C#/C++ interop, Maya API/MEL, JavaScript, Python, Perforce desirable.
6+ years’ experience in game development or related industry preferred.
AN IDEAL CANDIATE MAY ALSO HAVE:
Ability to coordinate the work of other Tools Engineers
Experience reviewing new technologies for possible use by the team.
Experience developing application libraries and plugins.
Ability to develop and communicate a clear vision of how products should function and the ability to lead peers, and to share and implement this vision.
