Job Description

The Associate Project Manager (Bilingual Japanese/English) will coordinate Pokémon video game localization with the parent company and stakeholders in Japan, the US, and Europe. Responsibilities include managing localization of software and packaging for the US market, facilitating approval processes for visual materials, ensuring timely delivery of localization deliverables, managing communication and scheduling of internal teams, acting as the main localization contact with developers and partners, and optimizing workflows. This role requires excellent communication skills in both English and Japanese, understanding of Japanese and American business cultures, and experience in video game localization.

  • Job Title: Associate Project Manager
  • Job Summary: The Associate Project Manager (Bilingual Japanese/English) will work with the parent company and project stakeholders in Japan, US and Europe to ensure the smooth and timely localization of Pokémon video games within desired timeframe with maintaining its quality. This position requires excellent coordination and communication skills in both English and Japanese. This role will facilitate the localization process, build and drive project schedules, and accomplish tasks throughout projects by working closely with internal and external project team members.

What you’ll do 

  • Manage coordination among relevant entities throughout the video game software localization process and content updates after the release
  • Manage localization of logos and software packaging for US region
  • Facilitate and manage coordination of various approval processes associated with visual materials used in both the packaging and content of the software
  • Ensure to provide localization deliverables in a timely manner by coordinating with team members and stakeholders
  • Manage communications and scheduling of internal teams
  • Work as a main contact of localization, maintain and promote excellent relationships with developers and business partners
  • Ensure prompt and accurate communications with understanding of Japanese and American business cultures
  • Seek to optimize and simplify workflow with a focus on continual improvement

              

What you’ll bring 

  • Three (3) to four (4) years of project management experience
  • Experience presenting in both Japanese and English.
  • Native-speaker level in Japanese and fluency in English are required.
  • Bachelors degree required, or equivalent years of work experience.
  • Video game localization experience is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of localization issues and cross-cultural awareness
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and ability to organize work effectively
  • Ability to handle a variety of assignments, balance priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Strong team player in a multi-cultural environment
  • Proficient in Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

Base Salary Range: For this role, new hires generally start between $78,000.00 - $93,100.00 per year. The full range is $78,000.00 - $118,000.00 per year. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. The final base salary is directly related to the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
