Job Description

Steer Studios is looking for a Data Engineer to directly influence games production, data analytics, business, and go-to-market strategies. As a Data Engineer expert, you will build a cloud-based data processing and storing platform, handling data generated from a few to millions of users worldwide. You'll ensure the data processing and storage are reliable and fast using cutting-edge technologies. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with data science, finance, and revenue stakeholders, leveraging state-of-the-art analytics tools. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and deploying automated data pipelines, architecting and implementing data schemas/models for clean, scalable data analysis, creating ingest processes for new data sources, maintaining and developing data alerting infrastructure, monitoring data processing efficiency, and proposing solutions for improvements. You'll also need to understand the tradeoffs between performance, reliability, scalability, and cost for data pipelines, collaborate with production and analytics teams to prioritize high-value data engineering tasks, and contribute to driving value for players and the company.
Good To Have:
  • Experience analyzing user-centric products, preferably in the gaming industry
  • Experience with a data visualization software
Must Have:
  • 3+ years of Data Engineer experience
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, HQL, Python
  • Experience with ETL pipelines
  • Experience with cloud storage solutions (AWS, Azure)
  • Familiarity with visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Understanding of database concepts and architecture
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • BS/BA degree in STEM related fields or equivalent

Steer Studios is seeking a Data Engineer to directly influence games production, data analytics, business and go to market strategies. As Data Engineer expert, s/he will build a cloud-based data processing and storing platform, being ready to take control over the data generated from few to millions of users all over the world. The one who would be able to make the data processing and storage reliable and fast using the cutting-edge technologies. This position will give you the opportunity to work closely with data science, finance and revenue stakeholders around the company using state of the art analytics tools.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and deploy automating Data pipelines.
  • Design, document, test and deploy for Data ETL/ELT processes
  • Architect and implement our data schema/models to provide clean, scalable data for analysis.
  • Create ingest processes for new data sources.
  • Maintain and develop data alerting infrastructure to quickly respond to and fix production issues.
  • Monitor data processing efficiency and propose solutions for improvements.
  • Understand the tradeoffs on the performance, reliability, scalability, and cost of the data pipelines you implement.
  • Collaborate with the production and analytics teams to prioritize the highest priority data engineering that drives the most value to our players and company.



Qualifications & Key Skills:

  • 3+ years of Data Engineer experience, ideally at a technology / game company.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical and development languages like SQL, HQL, Python,…
  • Experience in creating and maintaining ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with cloud storage solutions like AWS, Azure,…
  • Familiarity with visualization methods and sharing data effectively via tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and provide recommendations to complex business.
  • Understanding of database concepts and architecture.
  • Ability to work across disparate data sources to obtain sensible results.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience analyzing user-centric products, preferably in the gaming industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with a data visualization software.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • BS/BA degree holders in STEM related fields or equivalent.
