Job Description

This position is responsible for providing support for operational database services. The role involves owning and resolving database-related issues, coordinating with application and infrastructure owners, and participating in 24x7 operations with rotating shifts. The Database Administrator will review service-related reports daily to ensure timely issue resolution and investigate alerts to create strategic solutions. The Database Administrator is also responsible for providing database support.
Must have:
  • 5+ years database administration with Oracle 12c-19c
  • Expertise in setting up, monitoring & troubleshooting Oracle Golden Gate
  • Troubleshooting and resolving database integrity, performance, replication issues
  • Expertise in Performance Tuning & Query Optimization
  • Experience with the latest Oracle performance monitoring tools
  • Expertise with physical and logical schema design
  • Detecting and troubleshooting database-related issues
  • Knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, etc.
  • Knowledge of indexes, index management, integrity checks
  • Documentation skills for processes and procedures
  • Ability to be on call production support on a rotation basis
Good to have:
  • Experience working with SQL Server 2008/2012/2014

    Job Description

    • Responsible for providing support for operational database services to the organization.

    • Owns, tracks and resolves database related event, issues, incidents and coordinate with respective application and infra owners

    • Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.

    • Supports 24x7 operations in rotating shifts, resolves incidents within SLAs

    • Reviews service related reports (database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs

    • Responding to investigate database related alerts and escalations and working with others within the organization to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.

    Job Requirements:

    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration and support in Oracle versions 12c  through 19c.

    • Expertise needed setting up, monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle Golden Gate.

    • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.

    • Expertise in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, leveraging appropriate monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

    • Extensive experience with the latest Oracle performance monitoring tools and methods.

    • Expertise with physical and logical schema design and troubleshoot common issues.

    • Ability to detect and troubleshoot potential database related issues and constraints (CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, etc.).

    • Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, Database commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication.

    • Strong knowledge of how indexes work, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching. How statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively.

    • Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating Knowledge Transfer documents, run-books, topology etc.)

    • Ability to be on call production support on a rotation basis.

    • Experience working with SQL Server 2008/2012/2014 desired but not mandatory.

    • Experience in Cloud.
