Job Description

The Field Service Engineer will manage customer relationships by utilizing technical expertise to install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain imaging equipment (MRI, CT) at customer sites. Responsibilities include proactive customer visits, timely communication, issue resolution, exceptional customer service, and managing company assets. The engineer must resolve equipment and customer issues independently and maintain knowledge of technical advances and industry trends. They should be prepared to work across the North-East district, building credibility with customers, understanding their needs, and adhering to company processes.
Must have:
  • BA Degree or High school graduate in electronics/biomedical equipment servicing.
  • Experience in a technical service environment.
  • Ability to apply electronic, mechanical, and networking theory.
  • Strong organizational and self-discipline skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Italian.
  • Availability to travel constantly across the North-East district.

Job Description

Field Service Engineer:

This position will be responsible for customer relationship management through the effective use of technical knowledge to install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain equipment at customer sites and generate service revenue for imaging systems (MRI, CT) within an assigned geographical area (North-East Italy – Veneto, Friuli and Trentino Alto Adige).

Your role:

  • Build credibility and trust with customers by conducting pro-active customer visits.
  • Provide appropriate, timely, and regular communications to customer and internal key stakeholders regarding customer and equipment issues.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency to identify and resolve customer issues.  Follow the appropriate escalation process.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by adhering to customer entitlements, setting clear expectations, meeting commitments and arrival times. 
  • Understand customer's business and competitive environment.
  • Manage company assets effectively in accordance with established Philips processes and guidelines including labour time, parts ordering and returns, tools and test equipment calibration, purchase orders, equipment, company vehicles, business expenditures, etc.
  • Must be qualified and perform work in at least one modality (MRI) but may be asked to become qualified in and perform work in multiple modalities. Maintains knowledge of technical advances and current industry trends, seeking out formal and informal training opportunities.
  • Independently resolve equipment and customer issues.



You're the right fit if you have:

  • BA Degree or High school graduate or vocational certification in electronics, biomedical equipment servicing/engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience in the electronics industry, preferably in a Health Tec environment.
  • Experience in technical service environment, ideally in the biomedical segment.
  • Understand and apply electronic, mechanical, and networking theory to install, diagnose and repair equipment including knowledge and use of all necessary tools and test equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills, self-disciplined and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to effectively operate in a team driven environment to achieve assigned goals and objectives.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work requirements in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Oral and written communication skills in English in addition to Italian as local language.
  • Availability to travel constantly across the North-East district.
