Job Description

Lead Level Artist needed for a mobile RPG game studio. Responsibilities include developing, optimizing, and assembling captivating game locations for mobile devices; creating dynamic scene blockings; populating environments with game-ready assets; implementing lighting setups; maintaining organized asset structures; collaborating with the art director for stylistic consistency; and partnering with the technical team for optimization. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience as a Level Artist, proficiency in 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, and Unity, and a strong understanding of optimization for mobile platforms. A compelling portfolio showcasing technical prowess and creativity in level design is required.
Must have:
  • 3+ years Level Artist experience
  • 3D modeling (organic & hard-surface)
  • PBR texturing & material creation
  • Lighting skills (realistic & stylized)
  • Unity proficiency & optimization
  • Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer experience
  • Game design skills & level playability evaluation

One of our clients needs a lead/principal artist passionate about building immersive gaming experiences. You will work closely with a vibrant, highly experienced group of people to create games treasured by players worldwide.

Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Craft Immersive Worlds: Develop, optimise, and assemble captivating game locations for mobile devices.
  • Bring Concepts to Life: Create dynamic scene blockings based on art concepts.
  • Populate Environments: Fill scenes with meticulously crafted, game-ready assets.
  • Enhance with Lighting: Implement lighting setups to bring game environments to life.
  • Maintain Order: Ensure organised game asset structures and strict adherence to project technical requirements.
  • Achieve Stylistic Harmony: Collaborate with the art director to maintain stylistic consistency across all levels.
  • Optimise Performance: Partner with the technical team to streamline resources and ensure top performance on mobile devices.

About You

  • Industry Experience: At least 3 years as a Level Artist in the game industry.
  • 3D Modeling Expertise: Ability to create high-quality 3D models, both organic and hard-surface.
  • Texture and Material Creation: Proficiency in creating textures and materials for game environments using the PBR lighting model.
  • Lighting Skills: Knowledge of lighting principles, with the ability to create realistic and stylised lighting for video games.
  • Unity Proficiency: Proficient with Unity3D, its plugins, and optimisation tools.
  • 3D Software Skills: Experience with 3D modelling and texturing software such as Blender, ZBrush, and Substance Painter/Designer.
  • Optimisation Knowledge: Understanding of technical limitations and optimisation requirements for mobile platforms.
  • Game Design Insight: Ability to evaluate level playability with strong game design skills.
