Job Description

Lead end-to-end localization projects for PC and console video games, ensuring seamless integration throughout the game development lifecycle. Design and implement localization plans and workflows. Manage and mentor a team of linguists and editors, collaborating with other teams (FQA, LQA, Community Management). Coordinate voiceover projects, from script preparation to quality control. Optimize workflows using tools like MemoQ. Maintain master text files, translation memories, and glossaries. Serve as the primary point of contact for localization inquiries. Advise stakeholders on best practices. Meet deadlines, deliver high-quality localization, and ensure player and stakeholder satisfaction.
Must have:
  • Video game localization expertise

What you’ll do:
  • Lead end-to-end localization projects for PC and console video games, ensuring seamless integration at every stage of the game development lifecycle
  • Design and implement localization plans and workflows tailored to your project needs and aligned with business goals
  • Manage and inspire a team of linguists and editors, fostering collaboration with colleagues in other teams (FQA, LQA, Community Management, and others)
  • Coordinate voiceover projects: script preparation, casting, budgeting, and scheduling; oversee recording sessions, assist where necessary with direction, and ensure quality control of deliverables
  • Drive process optimization and streamline workflows with tools like MemoQ, automation scripts, and other localization technologies
  • Maintain and curate master text files, translation memories, and glossaries; ensure all project documentation is precise and up-to-date
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all localization-related inquiries regarding your assigned projects. Provide clear, concise communication on processes, tools, timelines, and costs
  • Advise stakeholders on localization best practices, ensuring optimal project setup from its inception
  • Take ownership of meeting deadlines, delivering exceptional localization quality, and ensuring player and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Mentor and empower other localization managers, sharing your expertise and guiding them through complex challenges to elevate the entire team
What you’ll need to succeed:
  • A proven track record in video game localization, project management, and preparing games for global release
  • Expert knowledge of the video game localization industry, including workflows, best practices, and market trends
  • Mastery of MemoQ or other TMS and CAT tools
  • Experience in localization engineering is a strong advantage, showcasing your ability to solve technical challenges
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine (UE) localization workflows is highly desirable
  • A passion for gaming, paired with in-depth knowledge of various genres, to bring a player-first perspective to your work
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, MS Office, and Google Suite
Nice to have:
  • Fluency in Spanish, French, German, or any Asian language
  • Experience with regular expressions and VBA macros
