The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ months of related experience, though fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission. SCHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Teams, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions. About the role:

 

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and refining CAD designs for server and rack products, collaborating with external partners to deliver innovative and high-quality products through the NPI (New Product Introduction) process while ensuring continuous design optimization. Additionally, you will embrace a growth mindset, proactively seeking opportunities to enhance design quality and processes, contributing to industry-leading server and rack solutions. Target candidates: Last year students / Fresh Graduates (Graduation time: 9/2024~8/2025) from Mechanical Engineering or related major.

 

Work Location: Taipei, Taiwan

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ months of related technical engineering experience or internship experience
    • OR equivalent experience. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience 

Responsibilities

  • You will interpret common details from specification sheets for testing and develop drawings for well-defined product features and develop an understanding of predictive modeling and ensure test requirements are documented. ​ 
  • ​​You will carry out testing on standard features or products and coordinate external testingand with minimal direction, you will identify design flaws using basic data analysis and validate features by helping build prototypes. ​ 
  • ​​You will follow a project schedule to deliver the hardware engineering aspects of a feature or product and also choose appropriate parts and evaluate the essential details of materials and techniques used in production. ​ 
  • ​​You will work to implement risk assessments, communicate team progress and create detailed reports for features or extensions. ​ 
  • ​​You will be responsible for documenting essential details about materials, components, and assemblies. ​
