Meta is seeking a strategic thinker to join our Public Policy Strategy team as Messaging Policy Manager. You will work on issues related to the Internet and Meta's mission of giving people the power to build community and bringing the world closer together. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding Meta’s policies and business priorities, being able to communicate those to policymakers, academia, civil society and other stakeholders. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues across the business and the globe, engage with trade associations and third party groups. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in emerging technologies and policy work, skilled at working cross-functionally and accomplished at engaging policymakers and constituents to build partnerships. The successful applicant will become part of a team that is dealing with some of the most interesting public policy challenges of our times including privacy, safety, and freedom of expression.
Messaging Policy Manager, APAC Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic policy advice to key business and policy partners for Meta's messaging Apps (Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp) for continued innovation and growth
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of legislative, regulatory, and industry proposals
  • Support engagement with policymakers, trade associations, industry partners, key opinion formers and non-profit groups
  • Interface with internal partners and clients regarding Meta products, policies, practices, and guidelines
  • Collaborate with product, legal, business and other teams to evaluate new and existing products and features to ensure they reflect Meta’s policies, values and principles
  • Respond to questions and consultations from external stakeholders on relevant policy issues
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience managing public policy and/or government relations and advocacy
  • Experience working and engaging with policymakers
  • Ability to exercise strong judgment and persuasive skills, creativity, and ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Experience producing policy briefs and other advocacy product policy documents for key stakeholders
  • Product counseling experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in internet technologies, security, privacy, integrity, safety, and the surrounding policy environments
  • Government relations or experience in government working on policy issues
  • Experience in policy work for a multinational corporation or government preferred
  • Knowledge of tech or emerging tech related policy issues preferred
  • APAC regional experience
