About the role
The Northern Europe Technology Development Lead will be responsible for the strategy, ownership and delivery for a number of our key Local Markets (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Estonia and Latvia). This role is the pivotal partner for our business units in the segment on those markets, understanding the Business initiatives, potential opportunities and Technology requirements and owning the delivery from Technology to meet those Business Objectives.

In addition to delivering for our business units, this role will be responsible for the modernization of the local markets within Northern Europe. Understanding the Technology platforms and organizational structure and defining the strategies for modernizing those platforms and bringing them together. D&B is growing rapidly within the Northern Europe markets and as a result we are looking for a Leader who can continue to drive and evolve our platforms to keep pace with this growth.

Owning the strategy, approach and outcomes for these markets will be challenging as each local market has its own Business Deliverables, challenges and platforms to modernize. This will require a comprehensive mix of Technology skills, primarily as a leader you will need to define and drive the North Star for the Northern Europe markets. This will require heavy strategic thinking and direction, coupled with the fact that there is a large and complex delivery book of work. This role will be owning all of this and tracking/driving these markets and the programmes within them, so programme management and governance is imperative. Understanding and managing the cost base for the area will require good budget management capabilities, with the incumbent responsible for the budget, delivery within it and driving innovation to deliver more efficiently.

Our platforms underpin some of the more complex businesses in Northern Europe and so require good knowledge of cloud-based technologies, microservices and high availability platforms. Finally excellent communication and stakeholder skills are required as the incumbent will be expected to provide domain management and updates to the full Northern Europe team.

This role is fundamental for D&B International. Reporting into Senior Director Local Markets Europe and working close to the Senior Director Technology Development Strategic Products Europe you will be responsible for one of our largest and most complex markets, and to ensure that they continue to be successful whilst managing the modernization of Technology with zero impact to each market.

This role will ensure that D&B can meet the needs of our ever-growing set of clients, products and data so it is a vital portion of our Technology transformation.
Delivering on those technical commitments to meet our commercial objectives and responsible for keeping the European Leadership Team and other stakeholders updated on progress.

Responsibilities

    • Overall E2E ownership for the Technology Functions within the Northern Europe Markets.
    • Stakeholder management for the Northern Europe markets, representing Technology in the Northern Europe Leadership team and representing the markets for Technology.
    • Working in partnership with the Local Market Leads, define, track and manage these projects to ensure delivery to budget and committed timelines.
    • Develop the strategy and process for modernizing the Northern Europe markets, including product, resourcing and back office.
    • Develop the vendor and location strategies for the domain, looking to utilize Technology centers in addition to the local market resource.
    • Ensuring SLAs, metrics and continuous improvement measures are in place and can be demonstrated.
    • Manage a significant domain budget, understanding, challenging, and proactively managing their cost and time position to mitigate potential delays and identify efficiencies.
    • Identify any dependencies, risks and issues and ensure mitigation plans in place.
    • Work closely with regional representatives from multiple global teams to ensure an effective cross-functional approach.
    • Act as pivotal connection between the Technology delivery team and the commercial business to ensure requirements and timelines are understood and aligned.
    • Coach, develop and challenge project teams (direct reports or otherwise) to a successful implementation.
    • Effectively communicate timely and relevant updates to multiple stakeholder groups including International Technology and the European Leadership Team

Key Attributes

    • Proven track record of leading a major Technology programme across multiple countries as a senior project director or lead preferably within a large organization.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills with experience of managing complex projects and performance management of suppliers.
    • Strong Technology background – knowledge of agile delivery practices, large scale data platforms and Java
    • Ability to define and implement KPI’s around quality, efficiency and delivery for large distributed scrum teams.
    • Exceptional multi-tasker, strategic and tactical thinker
    • Ability to prioritize and adapt while maintaining the highest attention to detail.
    • Able to shape, lead and control the delivery of complex, cross-functional projects, including optimization of resources and delivery to challenging timescales.
    • Relationship management, able to build and maintain effective working relationships and work collaboratively with a wide range of colleagues.
    • Understanding of relevant data legislation and privacy compliance across Europe
