We’re building a powerful Virtual Production team that will push the boundaries of what is possible for production in feature films starting with a high profile project you’ll recognize. We’re looking for a Producer, with all the training and experience, who will maintain complete control of project schedules, budgets, risks and issues to ensure successful delivery of a complex production that spans software development, content creation, hardware integrations, and wild expectations.

For those of you still reading, you’ll be working with many other friendly, experienced producers, project managers, and coordinators working across several teams.  You’ll be shepherding a talented team of clever and aspirational people to the Promised Land (with brief sight-seeing trips through the Valley of Chaos, the Cliffs of Insanity, and The Swamp of Despair).  Your teammates have a passion for filmmaking and storytelling and want to be inspired by you, nurtured by you, and have their timecards approved by you.

If you’re excited about things that have never been done before, and are an experienced technical/creative project manager with the skills to manage the development and launch of a challenging and groundbreaking project within its budget and schedule, then we want to work with you.

Responsibilities

    • Lead the full project from conception to end of principal photography as ‘scrum master’ including overseeing high level engineering sprint planning, facilitating VAD content reviews, and managing stage operations during shoots.
    • Manage resource needs/allocation of cross-functional teams (engineers, artists, designers, operators, hardware techs), and manage the creation of new processes and tools for internal application.
    • Always be cognizant of “impact recognition” during discussions with client and production team. Push back when appropriate on scope creep, facilitate budget augmentation with production’s approval for additional crew, or allow space for the creatives to dial the needs of development.
    • Create budgets for new project work using input from various department heads. Manage all aspects of current project budget alongside Magnopus accounting team.
    • Drive client meetings and manage delivery expectations together with the project supervisor/director.
    • Oversee day-to-day stage operations including hardware and software debugging with the stage operations vendor, communicate with other departments or stage vendors, and act upon client requests immediately during production.
    • Provide a nurturing atmosphere for the team to perform at their highest level, by removing any impediments to progress.
    • Manage the overall team efficiency and use your experience to improve production methodologies, organizational processes, as well as identify and monitor relevant vulnerabilities to alleviate potential risk.
    • Prepare and deliver production reports, build and manage production schedules for development and VAD teams, and assist in the tracking of assets and scenes through the pipeline.
    • Research and inquire about availability, pricing, compatibility, and integration of third party hardware & software.
    • Manage day-to-day interaction with department heads and develop trusting relationships with filmmakers and creatives.
    • Work closely with other Magnopus producers and department managers on resource requests, new business procurement, and internal departmental goals.

Baseline

    • 5+ years experience as technical or creative project manager, with proven track record of VFX or Vprod deliveries
    • Extensive knowledge and experience with realtime engines and new-age virtual production film techniques
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to direct a team while promoting a positive morale in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
    • Strong organizational, analytical and project planning skills and ability to find creative solutions to daily challenges
    • Outstanding communication skills and being able to lead by example
    • Able to translate complex ideas in a clear and concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences
    • Understanding of Hollywood politics, terminology and procedures
