Job Description

This Production Engineering Assistant role at Aptiv involves performing preventive and predictive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing faulty production equipment, and managing spare parts. The assistant will also participate in problem-solving, support engineers in evaluations and equipment development, assist with new production line setups and buy-offs, and contribute to continuous improvement projects within the Operation Department.
Must have:
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance of production equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair faulty production equipment.
  • Track and manage production spare parts for the equipment.
  • Participate in problem identification and brainstorming of resolution.
  • Support engineers in their engineering evaluation sessions and equipment development.
  • Support in new production line setup and equipment buy-off.
  • Assist engineers in carrying out continuous improvement projects.
  • Comfortable to perform rotating shift (Day and Night shift) and perform overtime when needed.
Good to have:
  • Experience in SMT, wirebond, or automation (motion/vision control)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000/QS 9000

Primary Job Purpose:

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance of production equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair faulty production equipment.
  • Track and manage production spare parts for the equipment.
  • Participant in problem identification and brainstorming of resolution.
  • Support engineers in their engineering evaluation sessions and equipment development.
  • Support in new production line setup and equipment buy-off.
  • Assist engineers in carrying out continuous improvement projects.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma in Mechatronics / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment. Candidates without prior experience but willing to try out may apply.
  • Must be comfortable to perform rotating shift (Day and Night shift) and perform overtime when needed
  • Experience in SMT, wirebond, or automation (motion/vision control) will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000/QS 9000 preferred
