REMOTE Gaming UI Programmer

Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re looking to hire a UI PROGRAMMER for a GAME STUDIO CLIENT. 

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the team to design, implement, and deliver high-quality user interfaces for both KBM and gamepad inputs.
• Break down design objectives into smaller technical tasks, assess scope and estimates, and provide insights on feasibility and user experience.
• Take ownership of UI features, proactively identifying dependencies and potential issues.
• Utilize standard tools to profile UI systems and optimize performance in terms of speed and memory usage.
• Ensure compliance with UI/UX certification requirements and support localization processes.
• Participate in code reviews to catch potential bugs and enhance overall code quality.

Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in C++ programming and code design patterns.
• Experience with Unreal UMG and debugging tools, such as Widget Reflector.
• Familiarity with Unreal’s localization tools.
• Over 3 years of relevant experience in the game industry.
• At least one shipped title in a similar position.
• Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively on feature development.
• Self-motivated, energetic team player who fosters a positive and inclusive team environment.

Bonus Points:

• Knowledge of Unreal Slate and UI functionality within the engine.
• Experience in cross-platform development, particularly with consoles.
• Background in multiplayer game development.
