WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a React Developer at Elgato, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing our web applications that support millions of content creators worldwide. Your primary focus will be on building intuitive, responsive, and high-performance user interfaces using React and Next.js. While the emphasis is on front-end development, familiarity with our full technology stack is beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain user-facing features using React.js and Next.js, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and backend developers, to translate design wireframes and business requirements into high-quality code.
• Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.
• Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain code quality.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying them into operations and activities when appropriate.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Must-Have Skills:

• Experience: 5 years of professional experience as a front-end or React developer.
• Proficiency in React.js: Strong experience in building complex web applications using React, with a deep understanding of its core principles.
• Next.js Expertise: Hands-on experience with Next.js, including server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG).
• JavaScript/TypeScript: Solid understanding of JavaScript, including ES6+ features, and experience with TypeScript.
• Front-End Technologies: Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and related front-end technologies. Familiarity with CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS is a plus.
• State Management: Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or Context API.
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Testing: Experience with front-end testing frameworks and tools like Jest, React Testing Library, or Enzyme.
• Responsive Design: Understanding of responsive design principles and experience in developing applications that provide a consistent experience across different devices and screen sizes.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Familiarity with backend technologies, especially Node.js and Express.
• Knowledge of database systems like MongoDB or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
