Who are we hiring?
The Specialist Social Content is a key member of the Sphere Social team and reports into the Senior Director, Social. This Vegas-based role blends strategy and execution; the Specialist is responsible for the content pipeline powering @spherevegas both day-to-day and for key, onsite tentpole events. We are looking for a highly collaborative and nimble self-starter who lives/breathes social, has a strong understanding of the entertainment industry and the ability to translate business goals into actionable social strategies.
What will you do?
- Act as Sphere Social’s day-to-day relationship owner with bi-coastal internal video production and Creative & Design Services teams
- Key participant in team’s weekly content brainstorming, accountable for subsequent @spheresocial content pipeline and delivery
- Use Airtable, Frame.io and other tools to manage the end-to-end process of social asset creation/production, including briefing, providing creative notes, trafficking/triaging, securing approvals, and ultimately, final delivery to various stakeholders and team members
- Work hand-in-hand with Vegas-based drone pilot and video editor on social cutdowns, ensuring adherence to social best practice and brand/creative guidelines – both day-to-day and under tight deadlines/off-hours for key announcements
- Responsible for low-fi static graphics, as well as short-form video edits for IG Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, ensuring differentiation per platform in line with best practices, core audiences, and trends
- Responsible for asset management, ensuring content bank upkeep and organization
- Run point on social coverage plans for onsite events (i.e., F1, NYE, artist residencies), able to translate leadership’s creative direction into an operations plan, concepts, and deliverables while abiding by various brand, legal, and other guidelines
- Work with Sr. Director to assess and secure external social production support for onsite event coverage, managing vendor coordination, comms, and payments/invoicing
- Responsible for upkeep and dissemination of internal content best practice by channel, providing hands-on guidance and support when necessary to internal/external partners
- Participate in trends-based quick-turn edits, as well as content test/learns, boosting when appropriate via paid media team
- Support Sr. Director as day-to-day point of contact for social/creator teams of Las Vegas partners/vendors (i.e., Venetian and LVCVA)
- Facilitate onsite access and venue walkthroughs for key partners when necessary
What do you need to succeed?
- 5+ years of professional marketing-based creative experience, preferably for a highly matrixed organization within entertainment, technology, and/or a start-up
- Strong portfolio of social content pieces (video and graphic/static), projects, and campaigns for reference – including real-time event capture
- Proven experience in video-based storytelling, able to hook audiences, communicate a message, and make impact in 15s, 30s, and 60s increments
- Intuitive understanding of what content types work best per social platform and resonates with each audience; highly adept at leveraging data and trends
- Hands-on, working knowledge of social platforms, including Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, X, Threads, and LinkedIn
- Fluency with high-level video editing and design software, including Adobe Creative Suite
- Highly comfortable with low-fi, phone-based content capture to complement DSLRs for real-time event coverage
- Highly comfortable giving hands-on direction to traditional creatives; able to sell in social-first concepts and best practice
- Strong and collaborative communicator; able to build relationships cross-functionally and coordinate across different time zones via email and Slack
- Highly adaptable to shifting business needs, approaching new ideas/solutions with openness and curiosity
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills, comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and proactively sourcing relevant information across broader org
- Open availability to work nights and weekends
