Job Description

Addepar is seeking a Staff Web Enablement Engineer to significantly impact user and developer experience. This role involves working with the design system and its application across the largest UI codebase, focusing on elevating UX quality through web frameworks, native APIs, and design partnerships. The engineer will also drive the adoption of AI in UI development, apply design systems and testing solutions, and mentor peers to improve delivery velocity.
Must have:
  • Implement new user experiences in Addepar’s products, bringing them to life with dark and light mode.
  • Mentor other contributors building in Addepar’s largest UI codebase, helping them achieve higher velocity of delivery through the application of AI, improvements to CI, and testing tools.
  • Become an expert in Addepar’s web component design system, and shape the future of that system through feedback and contribution.
  • Work across a broad spectrum of the design and web ecosystem, including with Figma, Storybook, Tailwind, Ember, Stencil, Svelte, React, Web Component technologies, and CI / testing systems.
  • Tackle the challenge of building a global product, and a global team.
  • B.S., or M.S. in Computer Science or similar technical field of study (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 8+ years of experience as a professional software engineer.
  • Strong and demonstrable knowledge of web fundamentals (TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, HTTP).
  • Obsessive about detail and quality in a user’s experience.
  • Eager to learn new technologies.
  • Have a capacity for self-organization and direction.
Good to have:
  • Experience with Ember, Stencil, TailwindCSS, and Web Components.
  • Experience with UI testing systems such as GitHub Actions, visual regression testing, QUnit, and Playwright.

The Role

We are seeking a Staff Engineer eager to have a transformative impact on user experience and developer experience. As part of an emerging team at Addepar, you will work at the intersection of our design system and its application across our largest UI codebase. Your experience working with web frameworks, web native APIs, and design partners will make you an expert in the elevation of UX quality. As your role matures, you will leverage your ability to automate, communicate, and teach to unlock the potential of your peers across the company.

You’ll push the cutting edge of what can be done with AI in Addepar’s UI development practice, and then drive adoption of tools and techniques across the company. As an expert in building polished and reliable UX, you will be at the forefront of how our design systems and testing solutions can be applied.

Your partners in this work will include Addepar’s incredible design team, our design systems engineering team, and our web architecture team. This is a vibrant group of experts in how to build for the web, and your contributions as a colleague will strengthen it.

What You’ll Do

Who You Are
