The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that the quality systems at suppliers and Philips HealthTech meet relevant Purchasing Controls requirements. This includes participating in the development and continuous improvement of suppliers’ Quality Assurance processes to ensure high quality and compliance. The SQ Manager will manage the selection and qualification of suppliers, maintain supplier folders, and ensure compliance with Philips requirements. This role requires travel to supplier sites in the Americas. This is an office role where in-person presence is required 3 days a week.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science-related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality auditing.
  • Knowledge of Quality auditing techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with RSA Archer, PTC Windchill, Appian.

In this role you

Assure that the Quality systems at the suppliers (including contract manufacturers) and Philips HealthTech meet relevant Purchasing Controls requirements; scope of activity includes all QMS relevant Purchasing Controls processes, systems and procedures, as well as Q&R processes indirectly related to Purchasing Controls (e.g., CAPA, audit). Participate in the development and continuous improvement of suppliers’ Quality Assurance processes to ensure high quality and compliance. SQA is accountable and responsible for supplier audits, external inspections/ audits of Purchasing, and training.


Your role:

  • The SQ Manager is responsible for the selection and qualification of suppliers, and the maintenance of the supplier folders to demonstrate proper status in Approved Supplier List.  The SQ Manager is accountable for supplier compliance to Purchasing Controls and conformance to PHILIPS requirements established via agreements.
  • The candidate will be part of a team to support qualifications and ASL maintenance, ensure that suppliers meet the requirements for use in Approved Supplier List.  In doing so, the candidates will adhere to policies and procedures set forth by the Business Units, and with the Philips Excellence Process Framework.
  • The selected candidate will be tasked with engaging with suppliers located in the Americas: North America, Central America and the Caribbean; South America.  Travel to supplier sites is required 40%-50% of the time.

You're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific-related field or equivalent demonstrated strong technical competence
  • You’ve acquired 3+ years of experience in Quality auditing.  General Quality knowledge is required to measure supplier performance, understand Corrective Action and Preventive Action to support requests for Supplier Corrective Action (SCAR).
  • Your skills include auditing techniques, understanding of process validation documentation, comprehension of typical manufacturing processes (molding, RF welding, machining, automated assembly, sterilization among others). Can conduct audits in Business language English; additional languages may be useful given the travel to places where Spanish, Portuguese, and French may be spoken & written.
  • Your computer proficiency is in Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others; ability to learn custom tools and/or familiarity with RSA Archer, PTC Windchill, Appian is desirable.

Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

    The pay range for this position in Murrysville, PA is $83,000 – 130,000, Annually. 

    The pay range for this position in Cambridge, MA is $87,000 – 145,000, Annually. 

    The pay range for this position in Plymouth, MN is $83,000 – 130,000, Annually. 

    The pay range for this position in Nashville, TN is $83,000 – 130,000, Annually. 

    The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.    

    In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.  Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.  Details about our benefits can be found here

    At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
