Everi is seeking a Technical Artist IV to join their Game Development team in Chicago, Illinois. This full-time role bridges the gap between artists and developers, focusing on implementing and integrating art assets, optimizing workflows, and providing technical support. Responsibilities include collaborating with art and engineering teams, resolving art-related issues, proposing workflow improvements, simplifying technical concepts for cross-discipline teams, maintaining file structure, and mentoring junior artists. The ideal candidate will have hands-on Unity experience, proficiency in relevant art and 3D software, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Description

Everi is searching for a talented Technical Artist I to join our cutting-edge studio and game development teams. As a Technical Artist, you'll play a key role in bridging the gap between artists and developers, making production smoother and delivering extraordinary visual experiences for our players. What Will You Be Doing?

  • Collaborative Integration: Partner with art and engineering teams to implement and integrate art assets while ensuring visual quality and performance.
  • Technical Liaison: Act as a bridge between art and engineering, resolving art-related issues and supporting seamless asset workflows.
  • Process Optimization: Propose and implement workflow improvements, new technologies, and standards for efficiency and quality.
  • Communication & Support: Simplify technical concepts for cross-discipline teams and provide troubleshooting assistance to the art team.
  • File Management: Maintain file structure, organization, and version control best practices.
  • Mentorship & Growth: Mentor junior artists and foster team growth through knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.


Skills, Knowledge, & Expertise Needed for the Job:

Education & Certification
  • Associate’s Degree required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Game Art, Game Design or a related discipline preferred (or equivalent experience).
Technical Qualifications
  • Hands-on Unity experience beyond school projects.
  • Experience with Shader and rendering fundamentals, VFX authoring, usage of timelines in Unity and real-time content pipelines.
  • Proficiency with tools like Spine, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator), or3D software (Maya, Blender, Cinema 4D, etc.).
  • Exposure to version control systems like Perforce, Jira, Confluence, MS Teams, and Excel.
Soft Skills
  • Outstanding communicator: You’ll need to work effectively with diverse teams, including producers, artists, and engineers.
  • Personable and approachable: You thrive in collaboration and are a problem-solving partner.
  • Detail-oriented and organized: You can manage complex workflows with ease.

 The compensation for this role considers a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location at which the position may ultimately be filled. At Everi, it is not typical for all individuals to be hired at or near the end of the range; compensation decisions depend on each case’s facts and circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000 - $75,000 annually.
