Job Description

This Technical Configuration Manager role involves leading a team, setting direction, and managing resources for various projects. The manager is accountable for business strategies, functional areas, processes, and programs. Responsibilities include managing and developing a team, setting goals, conducting performance reviews, and making talent management decisions. The role requires adapting departmental plans, allocating resources, and participating in organization-wide projects. The manager provides technical guidance, evaluates business processes, coordinates financial activities, and monitors performance data. The role also involves motivating employees, advising customers on application setup, ensuring technical and functional requirements are met, and staying updated on product knowledge. The manager will also give product presentations, and share their knowledge with their colleagues. They will also be responsible for following up on business opportunities.

Job Details

Implement organization strategies through the effective direction and management of resources, while being accountable for the business strategies, functional or operational areas, processes or programs.

Responsible and accountable for managing and developing a team of people, setting direction and deploying resources on varying projects, participating in organization-wide projects, while providing guidance and expertise on an as needed basis. Managers are required to understand how other business units operate, how their goals align with organizational goals and have budget and profit/loss responsibility.

Implements and configures the software, within the boundaries of the project plan, according to specified requirements and following best practices. Installation and technical setup of the platform, employees will be at client site or through a remote connection. Delivering functional, technical or project information to sales that can be used as input for commercial proposals or as information documents.

  • Manages a team of professional employees and/or supervisors.
  • Aids employees in the goal setting and performance review processes; performs other talent management and development decisions as needed.
  • Takes accountability for the performance and results of a team within own discipline; plans and implements procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency.
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
  • Allocates resources and assigns responsibilities for projects and assignments, checking status regularly.
  • Participates in both internal and external projects that are broad in scope and closely tied to the organizational strategy.
  • Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers.
  • Evaluates current business processes and systems and formulates department/unit policies and practices.
  • Coordinates financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency.
  • Reviews performance data (financial, sales and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels.
  • Motivates, develops, recruits and retains employees while rewarding and cultivating a culture of high performing teams.
  • Advises customers on the best way to setup applications when customer processes are known and when there is no significant GAP between the application and customer processes.
  • See to it that technical and functional implementation requirements are identified, discussed, agreed upon, documented and implemented, within the boundaries a set project plan.
  • Pro-actively gets and keeps product knowledge and skills up-to-date, within the assigned budget in time and money, in order to be able to perform an excellent job. Works together with the business analysts to gain knowledge on specific areas.
  • Pro-actively give product and customer presentations on application related topics, writes content and leads sessions, within the boundaries of personal targets and  budgets, in order to share knowledge and experiences with colleagues in own department and other departments.
  • Deliver functional or technical information to sales, according best practices, that can be used as input for commercial proposals or as information documents.
  • Spots and follows-up business opportunities in the professional network in order to generate business from new and existing customers.
  • Proactively give product and customer presentations on applications related topics, writes content and leads sessions within the personal targets and budget in order to share knowledge and experience with colleagues in own department and other departments.
