Job Description

As a Technical Support Engineer in the Customer Service & Support (CSS) team, you'll own, troubleshoot, and solve customer technical issues related to storage and high availability. You'll collaborate across teams, leverage troubleshooting tools, and participate in building knowledge-sharing communities. Responsibilities include investigating and resolving customer issues, identifying product defects, and contributing to product improvements. The role involves working with Windows systems, virtualization (Hyper-V), backup tools, Failover Clustering, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes, and storage solutions (including S2D). Knowledge of Azure VMs is a plus. This hybrid role allows for up to 50% remote work.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field & 1+ years exp. OR 3+ years exp.
  • Windows System Admin experience (Registry, File Storage, User Accounts)
  • Troubleshooting skills for Failover Clustering, backup tools, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes, storage solutions
  • Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Problem-solving, collaboration, and research skills
Good to have:
  • Experience with virtualization (Hyper-V)
  • Familiarity with additional backup tools and storage solutions
  • Knowledge of Azure VM

In the Customer Service & Support (CSS) team we are looking for people with a passion for delivering customer success. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will own, troubleshoot and solve customer technical issues. This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or related field AND 1+ years of technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience
o OR 3+ years of technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience.
o OR equivalent experience

 

Language Qualification
English Language: fluent in reading, writing and speaking.


Windows System Administration, Configuration, including a good basic understanding of:

• Registry
• File Storage
• User Accounts and Access Control
• Event Logs and Auditing
• Performance, Resource Monitor
• Networking (TCP, IP)

 

  • Experience with virtualization (Hyper-V is added advantage).
  • Familiarity with additional Backup tools and storage solutions.
  • Knowledge of Installation/Setup and troubleshooting - Failover Clustering, backup tools, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes, and storage solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows Failover Clustering, backup tools, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes, and storage solutions, S2D (Software Defined Storage / Hyperconverged environments).
  • Knowledge of Azure VM is an added advantage.

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

Responsibilities

• Response and Resolution: You own, investigate and solve customer technical issues, collaborating within and across teams and leveraging troubleshooting tools and practices.
• Readiness: You lead or participate in building communities with peer delivery roles and, where appropriate, share your knowledge.
• You develop specific technical and professional proficiency to enable you to resolve customer issues, through training and readiness.
• Product/Process Improvement: You identify potential product defects and escalate appropriately to resolve, contributing to Microsoft product improvements.
