What You'll Do

Epic Games is seeking an experienced UI Engineering Director to lead Fortnite’s HUD and Touch Input teams. Ideal candidates will have experience leading a large engineering organization and a specialization in UI & Touch Input development. We have a philosophy of incorporating creativity and innovation with the goal of continually transforming the game. This role will help shape the vision of Fortnite’s technical future.

In this role, you will

• Understand the technical requirements needed for Fortnite’s success
• Own the roadmap for Fortnite’s future HUD and Touch Input development
• Drive strategic vision for team organization and evolution
• Set your team’s vision, empowering them and holding them accountable
• Set responsibilities & expectations for your team
• Partner with other key leaders across the Fortnite team and throughout the company
• Collaborate closely with members of the Design, UX/UI, Art, Mobile, and other teams

What we're looking for

• Experience shipping a AAA product with live services in a leadership-based position
• Expertise in UI and Touch Input development
• Strong engineering background, with an advanced understanding of software architecture, design principles, data structures, and algorithms
• Critical skills for evaluation of engineers on their team - what does good look like?
• Great communication skills, verbal and written, with experience working in a fast-paced environment with cross-disciplinary teams
• Advanced knowledge of C++
• Experience working with Unreal Engine
• Familiarity with Unreal Editor for Fortnite & Verse is a bonus

This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including WA).

Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
