Job Description

As a Quality Engineer at Valeo, you will be responsible for resolving quality part issues on the plant floor to ensure the delivery of quality parts to OEMs. Your responsibilities include participating in containment and validation, supporting managers in issue analysis, updating quality tracking charts, performing line audits, participating in customer issue eradication, ensuring adherence to rules in QRQC meetings, revising control plans after issues, verifying 4M matrix respect, updating quality documents, verifying process conformance, and having the authority to stop production when necessary. You will also represent the customer in quality matters, contributing to a greener and more secure mobility solutions.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or technical discipline
  • 5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer
  • Experience with PPAP process and APQP
  • Experience with IATF 16949 quality standard

What You Will Do

  • You will help resolve quality part issues in a plant floor environment, to ensure quality parts are being delivered to the OEMs

  • You will initiate and participate in the containment and validation of the robustness of the containment when necessary

  • You will support APU (Area) Managers / Site Manager in the analysis of issues assigned in the QRQC activities

  • You will update the APU quality tracking charts

  • You will perform audits on the line to detect non-respect of the Standard and identify with the APU the actions to be completed to therefore comply with the Standard

  • You will participate in the eradication of Customer issues and Non Quality issues

  • You will, along the APU QRQC meeting ensure that rules are respected and “Stop at first disagree” and “Stop at first no” are applied

  • You will perform the revision of the control plan after an issue

  • You will verify 4M matrix respect with regards product or process changes and ensure customer awareness and approval of changes in accordance with the 4M matrix

  • You will update the quality documents following a process related change

  • You will verify the continuous conformance of the process to generate product to specification in accordance with the control plans 

  • You will have the authority to stop a manufacturing / assembly line in any situation where Standards are not respected or a safety or quality risk for the operator or for the customer has been detected

  • You will represent Customer within Valeo on Quality matters (communication/escalation)

What You Should Have

  • You have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in an Engineering or technical discipline 

  • You have 5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in the automotive industry or a manufacturing environment

  • You have experience doing multiple steps in the PPAP process and using APQP

  • You have experience directly or indirectly with the IATF 16949 quality standard
