Job Description

The Associate Producer at Sony Playstation Studios will support the production team in delivering high-profile AAA console titles on time, within budget, and to the highest quality. Responsibilities include project coordination (scheduling, tracking progress, risk identification), team collaboration (communication, meeting facilitation), resource management (workload monitoring, onboarding), documentation and reporting (updating project materials, generating reports), and QA support (tracking bugs, organizing playtests). The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and passionate about game development, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, art, and QA.

ASSOCIATE PRODUCER

Sony PlayStation Studios is seeking outstanding talent to join our passionate and creative family in crafting our next high-profile AAA console title .

We are seeking a n Associate Producer based on location in our LA studio, who will report directly to the Senior Producer . The ideal candidate will possess a combination of project management, communication skills , and a passion for making games. Help us create our next AAA title that will stand apart from the rest!

We are a newly established AAA studio based in Los Angeles, driven by a team of seasoned industry leaders and experienced game developers. Our mission is to create the next groundbreaking AAA original IP while reimagining the development process with a lean and highly efficient approach. We’re seeking talented individuals who share our vision and are eager to join us on this journey.

Responsibilities :

As an Associate Producer , you will play a vital role in the development process by supporting the production team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget , and of the highest quality. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, art, and QA, to manage workflows and facilitate clear communication. This position is ideal for a highly organized, proactive individual with a passion for game development and a knack for problem-solving. You collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, facilitate communication, resolve roadblocks, and maintain a productive workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, outlining tasks, deadlines, and milestones.
  • Regularly track task progress, ensuring team members stay aligned with the overall project timeline.
  • Proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, or delays, and work with the production team to propose actionable solutions.
  • Support the Senior Producer in defining project scope, priorities, and deliverables.

Team Collaboration:

  • Act as the central point of communication between teams, ensuring consistent updates and alignment across departments.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and cross-department syncs.
  • Follow up on action items from meetings, ensuring commitments are fulfilled and documented.
  • Encourage a culture of collaboration, transparency, and mutual support within the team.

Resource Management

  • Monitor team workloads and recommend adjustments to optimize productivity and prevent burnout.
  • Collaborate with department leads to ensure resource availability for upcoming tasks and milestones.
  • Assist with onboarding new hires by coordinating introductions, training schedules, and access to tools or systems.
  • Track outsourcing or contractor deliverables, ensuring quality and timeliness align with project standards.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain and regularly update project documentation, including roadmaps, risk logs, and task trackers, for accessibility by all stakeholders.
  • Generate detailed weekly and monthly reports for senior leadership, summarizing project health, risks, and progress.
  • Create and distribute meeting agendas, notes, and follow-up action points to keep teams informed and accountable.
  • Consolidate feedback from various departments into actionable tasks for the production team.

QA Support

  • Work closely with QA teams to track, triage, and prioritize bugs and issues during all phases of development.
  • Organize internal playtests, gathering qualitative and quantitative feedback to inform game improvements.
  • Assist in maintaining a live bug database, ensuring clear communication and tracking between QA and development teams.
  • Coordinate with QA leads to ensure milestone builds are thoroughly tested and meet quality expectations before reviews.

Process Improvement

  • Analyze and document existing production workflows, identifying inefficiencies or pain points.
  • Collaborate with the production team to implement new processes or tools to enhance productivity and communication.
  • Conduct regular team feedback sessions to gather insights for improving workflows and team morale.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices and bring fresh ideas to refine production methods and project delivery.

Qualifications :

  • 1–3 years in a production or coordination role in the games industry, preferably within AAA development.
  • In-depth knowledge of project planning and tasking with the ability to monitor the progress of department milestones and individual tasks against those schedules
  • Excellent organizational & prioritization skills, attention to detail, process knowledge and the ability to multi-task
  • Experience working with JIRA, MS Project, MS Office (Excel), Smart Sheet, Miro, Trello , and b ug tracking databases
  • Deep understanding of Agile techniques such as SCRUM, as well as traditional production management (e xperience in a leadership role in a studio adapting to agile philosophies a significant plus)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across Product Development and Management teams
  • Strong i nterpersonal and facilitation skills and a c ollaborative mindset with a passion for fostering team success.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience managing projects across continents with outsourcing teams is a big plus
  • Knowledgeable of current industry trends; stays up to date on competitive products and best practices
  • Must love games and have a true passion for creating them!

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

$67,600 — $101,400 USD
