Strong written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential.

Job Description:

In order to help drive further growth within the business, King is looking to hire an exceptional Brand Communications Manager. This is a 12 month maternity cover role that has been created in order to support the existing Brand Communications team within King.

Your role within our Kingdom

We are looking for a Brand Communications Manager to shape and amplify the Candy Crush Saga brand through strategic storytelling, earned media, and high-impact communication initiatives. This role is critical in driving cultural relevance, fostering organic conversations, and securing brand visibility through non-paid media channels. With a strong blend of creativity and strategic thinking, the ideal candidate will have exceptional project management skills to lead cross-functional initiatives, ensuring seamless execution of brand campaigns and communications efforts.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Support the Brand Communications team in driving the strategy of earned-first initiatives, marketing campaigns and press office that drive positive earned media & cultural conversation for the brand.

  • Lead on the briefing & execution of earned-first initiatives, with support from the Marketing Communications team.

  • Support the Marketing team with Brand Communications channel strategies & execution for key business priority (“Tentpole”) campaigns, collaborating with key leads across Consumer Marketing to drive impact for the business.

  • Lead the PR strategy & execution for strategic projects from the wider business (e.g. new game launches, business innovations).

  • Coordination and management of consumer PR, social media & creator marketing agencies. 

  • Day to day management of agency run press office activity.

  • Work alongside Brand Communications Lead and liaise with key internal stakeholders to build a robust calendar of relevant activity (e.g. launches, innovations, key milestones & cultural moments).

  • Support proactive and reactive management of issues and crisis, in partnership with the Corporate Communications team.

  • Manage regular measurement & reporting across BAU activity and earned-first, strategic, or integrated marketing communications campaigns, reporting progress to the wider business.

Skills to create thrills:

You have great passion for PR and social and how the channels can be used effectively and positively within a company. You should also have:

  • Substantial experience managing multiple clients in an agency or managing multiple PR & social agencies as part of an in-house team in growth environments with an emphasis on product and popular culture. Preferred industries include consumer technology, media and entertainment

  • Substantial experience of working in a multidisciplinary marketing team across integrated marketing campaigns

  • Strong consumer/lifestyle background with proven track record in coordinating and executing creative earned-first campaigns & content plans that ladder back to the brand positioning & narrative

  • Experience of media relations and pitching stories to media

  • A deep understanding of earned media, social & digital channels

  • An avid interest in consumer trends & insights

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Used to working to deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal skills so the candidate is able to work with other stakeholders within King and communicate with our agencies as required.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages, including Excel

  • An understanding of CRM is also desirable 

  • Meticulous attention to detail
