Job Summary

Job Description

The Cash Application Specialist will accurately and efficiently process incoming payments and ensure they are posted to the appropriate customer accounts and applied to the correct invoices based on the customer supplied remittance information. Key responsibilities include posting incoming payments to customer accounts, assisting with research, supporting bank reconciliation, collaborating with teams, and participating in process improvement. The role requires a bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience. Experience in a shared services center, particularly supporting a technology company, is preferred. The role involves working primarily in the Zelis-India office on all 5 days of the week.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP environments
Good to have:
  • Experience with Workday Financials a plus
  • Prior experience working in a Shared Services Center preferred

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled Cash Applications Specialist to join our Shared Services Team in India supporting CCS. The Cash Application Specialist will play a key role by accurately and efficiently processing incoming payments and ensuring they are posted to the appropriate customer accounts and subsequently applied to the correct invoices based on the customer supplied remittance information.

Position Overview:

Zelis is a leading US-based company that operates in Healthcare Information Technology. We have established a Shared Services Center in India to provide Accounting and Financial services to our US-based operations.

We are currently seeking a skilled Cash Applications Specialist to join our Shared Services Team in India supporting Price. The Cash Application Specialist will play a key role by accurately and efficiently processing incoming payments and ensuring they are posted to the appropriate customer accounts and subsequently applied to the correct invoices based on the customer supplied remittance information.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurately and promptly post incoming payments to customer accounts and application to invoices based on customer supplied remittance information.
  • Assist Accounts Receivable Team with researching customer questions and requests.
  • Assist Accountants with bank reconciliation processes to ensure that all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to streamline processes.

EDUCATION AND Professional experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of ERP environments. Experience with Workday Financials a plus
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Prior experience working in a Shared Services Center preferred, primarily supporting a Technology company.

Work environment:

  • Expectation to work primarily in the Zelis-India office on all 5 days in the week
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours as required to collaborate with teams outside of India.
