The Director, DVC West Coast Sales/Sales Operation is responsible for two cornerstone sales channels within the Disney Vacation Club portfolio (Disneyland Resort and Aulani) located in Anaheim, CA and Oahu, HI respectively. The Director, DVC West Coast Sales/Sales Operation will report to the VP, DVC Sales and will reside in California.

This executive position will provide overall leadership for his/her sales organization more than 170 Cast Members, ensuring sales results, profit growth, brand integrity, effective communication, innovative thinking and expansion/change management to implement key initiatives. Key areas of focus will include recruiting, training and development of the timeshare Cast Members, integration with the Disneyland Resorts and businesses (DLR Commercial, DLR Ops), performance management, consumer incentives, tour generating programs, annual Cast incentives/compensation planning, sales strategies, financial planning/forecasting and real estate planning for sales assets for sites. But most importantly, this individual will maintain a strong culture of respect, inclusion, inspiration, and continuous improvement.


Responsibilities:


The role will be responsible for ensuring the West Coast channels are aligned and partnering closely with DVC leadership colleagues in Florida inclusive of WDW, Disney Cruise Line, and our Global Virtual channel to develop and implement strategies that will drive effective discovery, tour generation and increased sales. Relationships throughout both coasts will be critical for this Executives and will be imperative that the Executive work closely with all partners throughout the Parks and Resorts Operations. It will be especially meaningful to sponsor Aulani and DLR Resort in such a way that there is a seamless relationship between both coasts to maximize support and drive Disney brand standards.


Other key partners include Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Cruise Line as well as multiple DVC departments such as Sales/Marketing Planning & Integration, Marketing, Finance, Industrial Engineering, WDI, Human Resources, Member Experience, Workforce Management.

This Executive position will reside in California, however, will be required to travel to all channels as the business needs. Specifically quarterly business travel to Aulani to engage with their Cast and meet with key Aulani partners within the operation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 8-10 years' experience, with demonstrated ability in sales management / strategic development strongly preferred

  • This Executive Leader must be an individual who has the gift of inspiring two geographical diverse channels and do it in such a way that all feel respected, included, inspired, and willing to learn and grow.

  • Ability to build Cast Engagement strategies that mirror the needs of the channels and visibility and interaction with all levels of the organization.

  • Proven track record to lead in a commercial environment and ability to influence and work with key partners and operational leaders.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and understand how to react quickly and make adjustments based on business performance.

  • Ability to appreciate what motivates a sales team including incentive plans, performance plans, and other recognition programs all while running a P&L.

  • Working knowledge on the uniqueness of Hawaii and/or California labor laws as well as other direct relationship techniques to lead all levels of these professional environments with confidence and respect.

  • Proven track record and demonstrated executive-level sales leadership experience.

  • Proven experience working with partners in quantitative disciplines, such as Finance, Research or Industrial Engineering.

  • Proven ability in understanding and acting upon sales trends, business analytics and consumer behaviors.

  • Demonstrated strong integration, analytical, strategic and creative problem-solving skills.

  • Proven experience in broadly influencing internal and external stakeholders, building strategic alliances/relationships, and working with all levels and across various business units within an organization.

  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills and strong individual/team development expertise.

  • Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Disciplined organizational skills in all aspects of job performance with strong attention to detail and continuous improvement.

  • Demonstrated strong project management experience with a sense of urgency, follow up and execution.

  • High integrity and understanding of the value of the Disney brand.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active real estate license

  • Experience with sales call centers

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $165,900 to $222,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
