Position Overview

The Autodesk People and Places Organization (PPL) is transforming the Learning and Talent Management (L&TM) organization, and we need to invent simplified and scalable ways to bring L&TM offerings to our global business.

We have an opportunity for a  Director of Learning Operations and Enablement  who will develop and drive new consistent, efficient, and repeatable approaches to the related disciplines of deployment, enablement, and adoption. In this role, you will re-imagine these areas and be responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and change management of the related people, process and technology.  


Reporting to the Vice President of Learning and Talent Management, you will influence leaders across the enterprise, including VP-level People Business Partner (PBP) Practice Leaders, the PBP Cohort and members of the senior Leader Cohort (L2/VP). You will build, lead, and coach a global team of people managers. With that team’s support you will develop and implement long-term operational plans to advance the L&TM strategy, our strategic priorities, and functional initiatives, ensuring we meet both our timelines and recharge targets of +$2M a year. Your overall goal will be to enable success in both short-term and long-term strategic objectives by hiring, developing, and retaining the best talent and implementing innovative strategies, tools and processes to drive L&TM forward.

In this effort, you will work cross-functionally in People & Places (PPL), across business units and across geographical regions to identify both what’s missing and what needs to improve and then charter and lead initiatives to implement new approaches. With a focus on innovation and human centered design, you and your team will scale our processes, expanding beyond our traditional focus on North America so we can provide learning, leadership development, and talent management to a growing, global organization.   
 

Responsibilities

Operations  

  • Reimagine our approach to learning adoption, focusing on program enrollment and transfer of learning back to the workplace  

  • Develop and implement long-term operational plans to advance the L&TM strategy, our strategic priorities, and functional initiatives 

  • Drive improvement in the maturity of L&TM enablement and adoption processes to increase delivery capabilities and business value add

  • Create the strategy, infrastructure, processes and partnerships to return in-person instructor-led learning to our global offices.  

  • Deliver learning outcome excellence (strategic alignment, learner satisfaction, budget forecast, and on time delivery).  
     

Organizational Leadership 

  • Build a team of experts in program management, change management and communication, who will together simplify experiences (develop the “easy button”) for our leaders and employees, making engagement with our organization and participation in our offerings straightforward 

  • Develop and inspire your teams to achieve maximum productivity and optimal creativity  

  • Attract new talent as while developing existing team members to meet the needs of the business  
     

Collaboration, Influence & Communication 

  • Develop a content management strategy and manage content across multiple platforms, including SharePoint, My Learning (LXP), and Absorb (LMS)

  • Partner closely with Go-to-Market colleagues, People Business Partners, People Consultants and the People Experience Team to develop an integrated approach to enablement, deployment and adoption 

  • Measure and communicate successes illustrating the business value of delivered capabilities  

  • Work with executive leadership to set expectations and manage risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs inevitable in complex programs and transformation efforts
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12 years of professional work experience in Enterprise Learning and Development

  • 5 years’ experience managing a team of learning professionals

  • Proven expertise in curriculum design and development, with a focus on programs that build new organizational capabilities at scale

  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles and the effectiveness of instructing methods such as classroom training, micro-learning, social learning, simulations, on-the-job application of skills, custom video, digital learning, and online learning tools

  • The ability to work with business leaders to guide the creation of development initiatives that you may be new to you (ie., Data Analytics, Machine Learning)

  • Strong ability to give meaningful and targeted feedback on deliverables. Ability to develop and coach team members as they develop high quality adult learning

  • Experience managing budgets and vendors

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including meeting facilitation and presentation

  • Ability to tailor approaches to nuances of global business with offices in multiple countries and experience with the translation and localization of learning content and experiences

  • Ability to prioritize multiple, large-scale initiatives simultaneously

  • Experience in building strong relationships across a global organization

  • Expert problem-solving skills and collaboration skills

  • Strategic knowledge of next generation learning and talent technology
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Human Resource Development, Instructional Systems Design, Learning Technology or a related field

  • Current knowledge of trends and practices in skill-centric strategies, Skills or Talent Intelligence, Content Intelligence, skills-based talent marketplace and related program deployment

  • Existing practice using GenAI tools such as ChatGPT 4, BARD, text-to-image creation tools, large language models etc.

  • Certification in the Success Case learning evaluation method or other formal process to determine learning impact and ROI

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $169,600 and $274,340. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
