World Relief Western Washington, a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to supporting refugees, asylees, and immigrants in Western WA, is seeking a Grant Writer to contribute to the realization of our vision: welcoming every refugee and immigrant into community, rooting them in community, and empowering them for community. The Grant Writer will play a pivotal role in pursuing and securing private and government funding aligned with World Relief Western Washington’s goals and strategic plan.
Role & Responsibilities

- 1.Research and Identify Grant Opportunities: Conduct thorough research to identify grant funding opportunities for local programming.
- 2.Proposal Development: Collaborate with program managers and directors to prepare Letters of Intent (LOIs), proposals, and budgets for funding requests.
- 3.Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with current funders, providing regular & timely reports and updates on funded programs.
- Collaborate with the Finance Director to prepare budgets.
- 4.Collaboration and Networking: Collaborate with World Relief Home Office staff on identifying and pursuing grant opportunities within the network.
- 5.Program Knowledge and Updates: Stay updated on current program details, outcomes, departmental needs, and organizational direction.
- 6.Funder Engagement: Plan, prepare, and facilitate site visits for funders to showcase the impact of funded programs.
- 7.Grant Reporting: Edit and submit comprehensive grant reports to funders in collaboration with program managers.
- 8.Database Management (Grant Hub): Maintain detailed notes on foundations and grant opportunities.
- Organize and update proposals in the World Relief database.
- 9.New Relationship Development: Actively research opportunities to develop new relationships with foundations and potential funding sources.

- Excellent Writing Skills:
- ---Strong command of the English language.
- ---Ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
- ---Capacity to adapt writing style for different audiences (grantors, stakeholders, etc.).
- Research Skills:
- ---Proficient in conducting thorough research to identify funding opportunities.
- ---Ability to gather relevant data, statistics, and information to support grant proposals.
- Project Management:
- ---Organizational skills to manage multiple grant applications simultaneously.
- ---Ability to meet deadlines and handle time-sensitive projects effectively.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- ---Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with program managers, directors, and finance team.
- ---Effective communication to convey the organization's mission, goals, and impact.
- High level of attention to details
- ---Thorough proofreading and editing skills to ensure error-free proposals.
- ---Attention to detail in adhering to grant guidelines and requirements.
- Outstanding listening, oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to relate to and communicate with diverse communities
- Project management, from facilitating big-picture strategic conversations about positioning and prospects to completion and on-time submission of full proposal and report packages (narratives, budgets and attachments)
- Ability to manage and prioritize competing tasks to meet multiple, simultaneous deadlines
- Extremely self-motivated with a proactive approach to work
- Maintain equal level of professional decorum, confidentially, and respect with people in interacting with participants, staff, high net worth individuals and foundation executives

- Eligibility: Full Time (40 hours per week) is eligible after 3 months of employment. Part time is eligible after 1000 hours in a year.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations
· The ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-15 pounds.
· Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information.
· The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· General office setting. World Relief also offers hybrid and remote schedules for limited positions.
· Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required.
· Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending.
· Physical, emotional and intellectual demands
