This contract role (7-12 months) as a Healthcare Supply Chain Operations Associate with Onward Search supports procurement activities, resolves supply chain issues, and assists with process improvements. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing purchase orders, addressing pricing and invoice issues, handling high-volume communication with internal and external stakeholders, managing master data for supplies and inventory, resolving transaction discrepancies, analyzing reports, and assisting with SCM improvement initiatives. The position requires strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. The role is fully remote in Rochester, MN.

As a Supply Chain Operations Associate, you will support procurement activities, resolve supply chain issues, and assist with process improvements to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This 7-12 month contract role is fully remote and offers a chance to make an impact in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Management

  • Prepare, review, and place purchase orders.
  • Address pricing, expediting, returns, and invoice/receipt issues.
  • Customer Service

  • Handle high volumes of communication (phone, mail, and fax) from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Log inquiries and problems into the support center tracking system.
  • Provide online ordering education to staff.
  • Data Management & Analysis

  • Manage master data for supplies and inventory.
  • Research and resolve transaction discrepancies related to supply information and invoices.
  • Analyze and reconcile reports, accounts, and system activities.
  • Continuous Improvement

  • Assist with SCM improvement initiatives and departmental projects.
  • Identify trends causing delays and collaborate to implement long-term solutions.
  • Training & Support

  • Facilitate new employee training and continuous education seminars.
  • Serve as a resource on department and institutional initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education

  • Bachelor’s degree OR a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
  • Preferred Knowledge & Skills

  • Familiarity with healthcare systems and applications.
  • Proficiency in personal computing and business/accounting principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving, teamwork, and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Technical Skills

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of policies, governmental regulations, and financial reconciliation.

To qualify for our benefits package, you must work over 30 hours per week, and the length of the assignment must be a minimum of 10 weeks.
