The IS Capabilities and Communication Leader will be responsible for supporting and developing the skills of the IS teams and the development of IS communication within the US. This role involves strengthening the IS department's culture, developing skills in an international work environment, and improving the perception of IS among other departments. Responsibilities include managing IS corporate culture, maintaining sourcing strategies, redesigning offboarding processes, developing IS skills through assessments and training, and contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of training programs. The role also encompasses communication responsibilities such as contributing to and maintaining communication plans, collaborating on internal and external promotion efforts, proposing communication models, and managing the internal social network. The candidate will work closely with Human Resources partners and corporate communications.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, or Human Resources
  • 7+ years of experience in an IT department or project management
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and manage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good to have:
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience supporting HR, Communications, or L&D project management
  • Experience with video editing and/or creative writing is a plus

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

The position is to be filled within our "Global IS" function located in Salt Lake City, where you will join the IS Governance – Capabilities & Communication team, in charge of supporting and developing the skills of the IS teams and the development of IS communication. The IS Capabilities & Communication domain, attached to the IS Governance department, is looking for a service manager who will evolve within IS but with interactions with the Human Resources partners (L&D, global HR) but also corporate communication. The position will report hierarchically to the IS Capabilities & Communication domain manager, within a team of 4 people.  

We work to strengthen the culture of the IS department and to develop skills in an international work environment. The communication aspect aims to transform the perception of IS among other departments of bioMérieux. We are looking for a professional to work on both aspects: Capabilities & Communication in the US. Our goal is to address the specificities (legal, cultural and HR) of the US and reinforce our communication team.

  • Capabilities
    • IS corporate culture: positive influence on the IS culture and expected behaviors (Core behaviors, learning company, etc.)
    • Maintain the sourcing strategy and facilitate its implementation
    • Redesign and improvement of the offboarding process
    • Development of IS Skills:
      • Skills assessments:
      • Analyze employees' current skills and identify training needs
    • Training Programs: IS Academy
    • Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of the performance of training pathways
    • Design and deliver training sessions to address skills gaps.
    • Production of training content for the reception of newcomers (onboarding)
    • Talent management, e.g. career paths
    • Internal workforce monitoring and trend analysis
    • Create and/or update of intranet pages
  • Communication
    • Contribute and maintain of the communication plan
    • Collaboration in all communication actions for the internal and external promotion of the IS department (bioMérieux)
    • Contribute to the non-corporate communications elements of our leadership team.
    • Contribution, co-creation or assistance in the creation of the department's communication elements: Videos, interviews, graphic supports, editorials, etc
    • Organization of events for the IT department "IS Live event" in duplex with the United States (3 / year) for an international target population.
    • Development of IS Communication Skills:
      • Propose communication models and best practices.
    • Community management: animation of the internal social network (Viva Engage)

Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, or Human Resources with 7+ years of experience preferably in an IT department or in project/change management.
    • Master’s degree preferred.
    • Experience supporting HR, Communications, or L&D project management is a plus
    • Experience with video editing and/or creative writing is a plus
  • Curious and organized, you are a good listener and like to work in a team, in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and manage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
