The role of IT Operations Manager leads the teams responsible for DevOps and Database Administration, ensuring seamless application operations from deployment through to production support. The role involves working closely with the wider group responsible for infrastructure configuration, hardware provisioning, application deploys and information security to ensure that all services and resources are provisioned and maintained correctly. Once the foundational services are set up, this leader takes full ownership of everything at the application layer, including deployments, monitoring, scaling, performance optimization, and configuration consistency across environments. The role requires collaboration with teams across our global offices, necessitating strong cross-cultural communication skills.
Requirements
- Proven experience (5+ years) leading DevOps, DBA, System Infrastructure or Software Development teams, with a focus on application-level operations.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of ArgoCD or similar GitOps-based CD tools.
- Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, load balancing, firewalls).
- In-depth knowledge of database engines (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, MySQL, MongoDB).
- Extensive experience in database management, including optimization, performance tuning, and high availability strategies, with knowledge of data protection requirements
- Ability to lead and coordinate multiple teams effectively, ensuring alignment with overall technical operations goals set by the Technical Operations Director.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working closely with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Experience with scripting and coding (e.g., .NetCore, Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go, Java)
- Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to managing application performance, scalability, and configuration consistency.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools to track infrastructure and application performance and ensure uptime.
- Experience working in multinational tech companies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the DevOps and DBA, and Configuration Management teams responsible for the development and maintenance of platforms that support software delivery, including CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and infrastructure.
- Coordinate with the wider group to ensure the proper setup and provisioning of infrastructure and security services needed for application deployment and operations.
- Own the implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Ensure effective database management, performance optimization, backup strategies, and disaster recovery procedures are in place and functioning smoothly.
- Collaborate closely with security teams to implement and maintain security controls at the application and configuration levels.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for DevOps, database performance and driving continuous improvement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the wider infrastructure team when coordinating services and resolving dependencies that affect application operations, both locally and internationally.
- Develop and enforce standards, policies, and procedures for infrastructure management and application deployments.
- Ensure compliance with EU data protection regulations and IT standards.
