About Us

We are CCP Games London, a dynamic team working on a brand-new sci-fi sandbox FPS game, EVE Vanguard .

Our focus is to create an immersive sandbox experience featuring stunning visuals and intuitive gameplay, utilizing player feedback from our passionate fans and adding ground-breaking connections with EVE Online .

We are looking for a talented Lead UI/UX Designer to join our team and get hands-on building an innovative user experience for our game.

Job Overview

As the Lead UI/UX Designer , you will be responsible for the UI/UX of EVE Vanguard which will mean leading the UI/UX team and collaborating and innovating with the creative and engineering teams to create a fully immersive player experience.

This role reports directly to the Creative Manager .

Your Tasks

  • Collaborate with the Art, Design and Engineering teams to help define features and implement a player focused UI/UX experience
  • Work with the Creative Teams on the visual identity and vision for the product
  • Lead the UI/UX design team in defining and implementing the games user flows from initial wireframes and prototypes to final in game assets
  • Work with Tech Artists and Engineers to successfully execute the vision for UI across the product
  • Ensure all assets are delivered against agreed technical specifications, to quality and are present and functioning in the game engine as intended
  • Propose a range of creative UI/UX solutions and ideas
  • Work effectively in a collaborative environment

Your Profile

  • Strong core skills in graphic design, branding and iconography, typography, colour theory and composition
  • Expert knowledge of working directly in Unreal Engine; using UMG to layout widgets, Blueprint scripting to bind UI logic and creating UI materials to achieve high fidelity
  • Expert in design software such as Figma, Adobe XD (or similar), with experience creating and maintaining interactive wireframe flows
  • In-depth knowledge of UX principles and their applications
  • Experience in formulating and implementing UX strategies
  • Strong communication skills as you will be working with key stakeholders to solve problems
  • Understanding of how UI should be integrated into engine, knowledge of when to use textures, materials, or procedural approaches
  • Expert knowledge of industry standard 2D software, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
  • Expert knowledge of industry standard pipelines and workflows from initial asset creation to implementation within game engine
  • Experience managing and mentoring others
  • Exceptional attention to detail

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working on multiplayer or live-service games.
  • Knowledge of motion design or animation for UI elements.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and practices in game design, particularly for multiplayer games.
