The Live Game Producer at Niantic will work on current and upcoming Pokémon GO projects, focusing on live events like Pokémon GO City Safaris. Responsibilities include collaborating with a cross-functional team to drive live game strategy, supporting quarterly/annual goals aligned with events and business objectives, breaking down complex issues into manageable project plans, ensuring thorough QA testing, building relationships with brand partners, and reporting project performance to leadership. The ideal candidate is a Pokémon GO fan with experience producing large-scale events and managing multiple projects. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with fluency in Japanese and English.

Job Details

Are you ready to drive a game that brings a positive impact to the world through the power of mobile and location technologies? We’re looking for a bold and innovative Producer to work on current and upcoming Live Game projects in Pokémon GO. The Live Game’s work highlights our core pillars of exploration, exercise, and real-world social. This role would support the execution of Live Game projects such as Pokémon GO City Safaris and more. The ideal candidate would be an authentic Pokémon GO fan who has experience producing large scale events and managing concurrent projects.

A combination of technical aptitude, Pokémon brand knowledge, and creative thinking are required to be successful in this role. Join the team and make a positive impact on millions of Trainers around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of experts to drive Pokémon GO’s Live Game strategy while keeping the game fresh and fun between major features.
  • Support quarterly/annual Pokémon GO Live Game aligned to OKRs, seasons, live events and business objectives, in close partnership with game designers, live events and marketing.
  • Break down multifaceted issues into workable components to guide our project plans from ideation through post-launch.
  • Partner with QA to ensure events are properly set up and thoroughly tested before going live. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brand partners, navigating approval hurdles to successfully land a cohesive end product.
  • Engage with the team leadership to keep them apprised of project performance as well as presenting data-driven results and recaps.
  • Required in-office 2 days a week. 

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience producing a live service mobile game.
  • You have collaborated on the growth of a live product or service.
  • You are able to demonstrate extraordinary organization, communication, detail-oriented, and leadership skills while working on cross-functional teams (design, engineering, production, etc.).
  • You have an interest or excitement about AR and mobile games.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications.
  • You love Pokémon GO.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • You are fluent in Japanese and English.

Plus If...

  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira.
  • You have worked on games or gaming platforms.
  • You have experience working with an external partner.
  • You have localization experience.
