Scopely is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join their LiveOps Automation team within the Midcore division. The role involves designing, developing, and researching ML systems and models to empower scalability, personalization, and efficiency in game operations. Responsibilities include applying advanced statistical/ML methods, transforming prototypes into production-usable models, ensuring model performance, building cloud-native infrastructure for ML training and serving, implementing tools for Live Operators and Game Design teams, and supporting the LiveOps Automation toolsuite. The position requires contributing to technical plans and discussing workflows with stakeholders.
Must have:
  • Deep understanding of ML technologies development and best practices.
  • 3+ years experience delivering production quality, highly performant ML platforms.
  • Experience with ML Frameworks (PyTorch, MXNet, Tensorflow).
  • Experience with model serving frameworks (Seldon Core, TorchServe, TF Serving).
  • Very strong coding ability in Python, Java, or C++.
  • Strong knowledge of Python.
  • Experience with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience writing and maintaining automated tests.
  • Great tech communicator, able to share knowledge with non-technical people.
  • Desire to seek user feedback for application development.

Scopely is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join our LiveOps Automation team within our Midcore division on a hybrid/remote basis.

Our mission is to unlock smarter, faster, and more impactful ways for game teams to manage LiveOps strategies. This role is pivotal in helping to define the future of Scopely’s game operations.

What You Will Do

We seek a creative and highly motivated ML Engineer to join the Scopely LiveOps Automation Team. This role will focus on unleashing ML capabilities for LiveOps teams that work on different gaming platforms. The day-to-day activities will involve designing, developing, and researching ML systems, models, and schemes, contributing to technical plans, and discussing the workflows and requirements with stakeholders.

  • Apply advanced statistical / ML methods to large, complex data sets.
  • Transform data science prototypes into production-usable ML models.
  • Ensure ML models remain performant over time.
  • Building and maintaining cloud-native infrastructure for hyperscale ML models training and serving.
  • Work with other developers to implement tools to empower our Live Operators and Game Design teams to create new and exciting game-play experiences.
  • LiveOps Automation toolsuite support & troubleshooting.
  • Contributing to technical plans and discussing the workflows and requirements with stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

  • A deep understanding of ML technologies development and best practices.
  • 3+ years experience delivering production quality, highly performant ML platforms.
  • Experience with machine Learning Frameworks (PyTorch, MXNet, Tensorflow, etc.) and model serving frameworks (Seldon Core, TorchServe, TensorFlow Serving, etc.).
  • Very strong coding ability, and experience in development in at least one mainstream programming language (Python, Java, C++ etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of Python.
  • Experience with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS / Azure / GCP).
  • Experience writing and maintaining automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • You’re a great tech communicator who knows how to share knowledge with non-technical people.
  • You desire to seek out and take on user feedback to drive world-class application development.
