Summary of Position

The Manager, Community is responsible for the planning, implementation, management, and monitoring of Nexon America’s community team. This includes providing direct support for a team of Community Managers and working with internal groups (i.e., Marketing, Live Operations) to lead on the execution of campaigns, development of best-practice player engagement strategies and optimization of community platforms to promote and distribute content. The Manager, Community will additionally provide guidance to improving community engagement and growth, based on feedback and trends gathered. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in social media trends and content best practices, with a keen awareness of the latest developments in the gaming industry.

We are currently working in the office 2-3x a week in a hybrid work model.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and grow the Community team to ensure that performance meets business goals and quality standards. Manage day-to-day activities of the Community team and provide clear direction to the team on how to address the communities’ feedback, issues, and concerns
  • Drive creativity with the community team’s creation of content (including assets, events, livestreams, videos, posts), communication strategies, and campaigns to uniquely tailor them to Nexon America’s gaming communities and foster continued community growth
  • Lead the team to develop innovative social media strategies to create trending and highly creative content, boosting brand awareness, follower growth, and engagement through effective social campaigns
  • Contribute to create strategic community engagement direction and analyze metrics and drive improvement
  • Act as a primary community liaison, directly interfacing with internal/external counterparts to provide key insights, trends, and best practices
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Experience

  • 5-7+ years of working in the entertainment or (mobile, pc) games industry required
  • 3+ years of experience in the role of community management leadership
  • Discord, forums, and/or community tools experience
  • Professional livestreaming experience
  • Project management and organizational experience
  • Media platform, X, Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok management experience

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Knowledge/Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent writing, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong project management and problem solving skills
  • Strong ability to mentor and direct team members to meeting business goals and community needs
  • Strong working knowledge of marketing and game production
  • Understanding of marketing and community management performance metrics and optimization strategies
  • Able to plan and execute community initiatives and tasks on a yearly, monthly, and weekly basis
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to create and document processes/proposals clearly
  • Must be able to work effectively both individually and as a team member

Compensation Description for Pay Transparency (annually)

The base salary range for this position in El Segundo, CA is $100,000 - $125,000 annually.

Our salary ranges are determined by market data based on position and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salaries for that position. An individual’s pay is determined by factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experiences, relevant education or training, and location.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, however the salary range listed in this job posting reflects the base salary only.
