Job Description

As a Manufacturing Technician Supervisor at Axon, you will lead the supervision of Automation Technicians, ensuring the maintenance of production equipment. This includes in-depth product knowledge and maintaining high equipment performance. You will troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, manage work orders, and determine spare parts needs. Key responsibilities include communicating equipment status, participating in process reviews, and leading coordination to address rework inventory. You will also monitor and communicate top First Pass Yield (FPY) limiters to reduce backlog inventory levels. You must ensure technicians are trained on rework procedures, product specifications, and documentation requirements. This role involves collaboration with various teams and continuous improvement initiatives.
Must have:

  • Strong automation, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge.
  • 5+ years of supervisor experience in technical manufacturing.

  • Basic computer skills.

Your Impact

As Axon's Technician Supervisor, you are a leader, and will be responsible for the
supervision of Automation Technicians who performs preventive and breakdown
maintenance on production equipment. You will demonstrate in-depth product knowledge
and maintain high equipment performance and uptime. You will also be responsible for a
diverse mixture of cross functional manufacturing activities with a strong emphasis on
interacting with automated production machines, personnel and other aligned manufacturing
teams.

What You’ll Do
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Reports to: Director, Manufacturing

  • Supervise equipment maintenance to support Axon manufacturing operations
  • Communicate relevant equipment status to associated manufacturing line leads and supervisors.
  • Aid to Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, determine corrective actions and Communicate with Manufacturing Engineers to resolve issues.
  • Manage and complete work orders in Axon's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Determine equipment spare parts needs within Axon's CMMS to aid inventory accuracy and prevent downtime.
  • Participate in process reviews for products as required.
  • Engage in problem solving & brainstorming, both individually and as part of the Axon team
  • Follow Axon's Environmental Health and Safety guidelines
  • Lead coordination and technician support to address rework inventory backlog for the assigned product line, ensuring timely resolution of quality issues.
  • Monitor and communicate top First Pass Yield (FPY) limiters to cross-functional teams, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to identify, prioritize, and execute rework activities that reduce backlog inventory levels.
  • Track and manage rework turnaround times, driving process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce cycle time.
  • Provide regular updates on rework backlog status to key stakeholders, including Senior Leadership, Production, and Quality teams.
  • Ensure technicians are trained and aligned on rework procedures, product specifications, and documentation requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing rework rates and improving FPY across automated manufacturing lines.

What You Bring

  • A GED or an Associate Degree in a related field with the following experience.
  • Strong automation, mechanical and pneumatic knowledge and aptitude
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Supervisor in technical manufacturing working with complex equipment
  • Experience working with automated assembly equipment is preferred
  • Experience working with high volume automated systems is preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Basic computer skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to expand your professional knowledge
